Is that case going to be available in the stores like the others for pre-ordering? When does it start? (The others steelcases/ironpacks had specific dates when pre-ordering began)

You can pre-order it through best buy online right now...It's just the steelbook case....but it's cool

Okay, this one thing has kind of been on my mind for quite some time. Does anyone know what the Blu-ray's aspect ratio will be? I know the DVD version had the movie's negative ratio of 1.66:1, though I wouldn't be too surprised it Disney decided to make this release 1.78:1.

By the way, I happened to come across this just now.

Might wan'na make that link small DisneyJedi no offense.

This was actualy funny, love Muffasa praticing his dramatic look, found the 'name flub" aibt forced and the ending was classic reminded me of Michael Jackson's stunt.

defintly appricate the post.

Honestly, I hope the 2D Blu-ray is in 1.66:1, and the 3D Blu-ray is in 1.78:1.

1.78:1 is far more friendly on 16:9 3D screens, as you need the most image you can get for the best effect, same reason James Cameron released Avatar in two ratios.

You couldn't really call it against the director's original intentions either, because I highly doubt their original intention was in 3D. Compared to that, a slight ratio shift is negligible.

But yeah, I hope it is 1.66:1 for the 2D Blu-ray, 1.78:1 for the 3D Blu-ray.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but anyway, the movie is out on theaters here on Mexico in 3D, and this being my favorite Disney movie ever, I went to watch it this past Tuesday. I went alone, the loser that I am, and we were about 10 people in the theater, all adults, then again it was midweek, so you know.

And the movie looks gorgeous, but to be honest, the animation of The Lion King has always looked gorgeous, nothing really seemed particularly different or special with the 3D convertion, I did notice certain animation details that I hadn't paid attention to before, and the stampede scene looks very impressive, then again, it has always been an impressive scene, also I'm not sure how to take the fact that now I have to witness Simba laying next to his dead father on another dimension.

But I'd lie if I said I didn't get teary eyed when the "Circle of Life" begins the movie, but it's mostly because my emotional attachment to the movie, and the fact that "The Lion King" is a great movie. Gonna try to take my kid cousins to watch it, I'd love to see how kids today appreciate the movie.

I'm so buying the trilogy pack when it's released, but I've been thinking, in 2014 is the 20th anniversary of the movie, do they have any plans for that? I only recall one particular event in 2009 with the anniversary of "The Little Mermaid".

You beat me to it. :( Thanks for posting! Great bloopers, bad colors. I really wish they had more like The Stampede and the musical #s, it was like the same scenes.

BEST PART=JAMES EARL JONES BURPING! XD And the Ed part at 0:42, Scar: "I don't know what I'm doing", Rafaki falling asleep, the last one, and Timon's parts (esepecially The Fart)

Colors aside that was pretty fun. I don't think Ive seen this idea done in hand drawn animation. The closest thing that comes to mind is Brother Bear's credits. Speaking of credits are we expecting this to play during the theatrical release next month? would like to see what an audience's reaction to it would be.

I found the line fumbling to be the least funny of the gags. could use some more variety, like pixar's stuff. maybe some pranks and fake film crew, some camera shake.

You know, I'm kind of curious. Did they actually record these for the outtakes, or is it previously recorded material? For some reason, I think it's the latter.

I think it could be a combination. The Scar, Nala, and the Simba (walking on the log) make it sound like a previous recording, but the ones like Rafaki, Timon and Mufasa ones are defientely made up.

Haha, that was very funny, especially Timon trying out the luau bit multiple times.

I can't believe we're getting The Lion King on Blu-ray before Finding Nemo.

I can! See? The proof is all over the topic. Why shouldn't you believe it?

So a friend of mine managed to get an early copy of this last week and we watched it together over the weekend (in 2D). Overall the movie looks breathtakingly beautiful. Unfortunately the theatrical cut still has the redrawn bits for the IMAX release only minus the morning report number.

Was there any info about upcoming releases? (from the 'sneak peeks' section or from the leaflet inside the Blu-ray case)

Ha! There is certainly nothing wrong with it - TLK is one of my favorites. I just can't believe that we still don't have Nemo on Blu-ray.

They will have them in store. Just like the previous ones you pay the deposit and take home the case, then come back for the movie when its released. Some stores have put them out early, but they are supposed to be released on 9/4.
