I haven't seen that one, and a 5.4 rating on IMDb and a (as far as I can tell) predictable, cliched plot-description doesn't really make me curious.
I didn't think that you let other critics sway your judgement of films. But here you are using IMDb as a source as to why you won't watch a certain film. Maybe that is why you should broaden your scope of different movies, there might be that little gem out there that no one else will take a chance on and you find it really interesting and post your review of it and others jump on it and you have expanded other people's knowledge of film.

I will not, do not, and don't ever expect to have any critic tell me what is a good movie or a bad movie. I go to the movies in theaters two or three times a week, and my collection of over 6,000 titles, less than 500 are Blu-ray, is made up of movies that I think are really good movies that I will watch more often than other films that I don't buy. And I don't rent movies. If I haven't seen the movie at the movie theater, then chances are I won't add it to the collection, however, there are those films that I hear about from friends or someone loans me a copy of a movie that will cause me to purchase it for my collection.

"Havoc" is one of those little gems. Anne Hathaway had her Disney privileges taken away after appearing totally nude in this film. That is not the reason you should see it, because it tells a really good story, and she is rather good in it.

I could recommend a lot of "little gems" to you, but since you check IMDb to see what they have to say you probably wouldn't watch. Some people would call that tunnel vision, but I just say that to each his own. What you might think is a great movie, other people might think is crap.

And, to set you straight on something, I have a lot of foreign films in my collection that are really good movies. Every genre has its turkeys, be it drama, comedy, anime', westerns, foreign, or whatever. Taking a chance on a movie is sometimes very rewarding, and sometimes you feel like you have wasted your time. I know that feeling well.

I read all your contributions to the forums here on UD and know that you have a pretty wide variety of taste in movies, but I didn't know that you used IMDb as your guidelines for what films you watch or don't watch.
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

Well, I already do have a pretty wide scope of different movies I like. From comparing our posts, it seems like your scope is far more narrow than mine. But that's okay, we can't all like the same things. You're right, IMDb is not the be-all, end-all when it comes to movie reviews. Some turds rate real high over there and vice versa. Usually I do pay attention to the professional critics, simply because you have to have something to guide you in deciding what to watch. I can't be bothered to spoil two hours of my day on something that's not worthwhile. But, every once in a while, I will watch a much praised, highly acclaimed movie and find it extremely boring. Like recently, when I watched The American. So I guess it remains a bit of a gamble. But note that I also mentioned the plot description didn't appeal to me, and seeing that you and me don't usually have the same taste in movies, I think I'm gonna pass on this one.

Of course not. That's what the internet and screenshots are for. :D

See above.

Well, that's a big over-statement. I only use it as a back-up in case I'm familiar with a particular movie or when I'm not sure whether I want to watch it. In those cases, I also check RottenTomatoes, Wikipedia and I do a little Google search on the title. But if the plot doesn't appeal to me, it has to have gotten good (professional) reviews to persuade me. I mean, what other incentive is there for me to watch a movie I know nothing about? I know better ways to waste my time.
