She never said. I would assume that the T-rex's attacked her village during the first episode, because the first episode takes place 1 month after the mini-series, and there is no indication as to how much time has passed between episode 1 and episode 6("The Matriarch"). She acts like this all happened recently, so that's why I assume episode 1. But it could be that her village's sunstones failed for some reason and it had nothing to do with previous story lines. I wish they would have been more specific. In "The Matriarch", that woman (I can pronounce her name, not spell it: Arridia?) said that she lost track of her children when the T-Rexes stormed her village. Was this when the Sunstones failed in the original movie, or when the Green Chrystal overpowered the Sunstones in the first episode?

Prince Adam, I too am mad, but I think the series could actually continue. It seems to be pretty popular outside of the U.S. and I wouldn't put it past Hallmark to just release another season only on DVD in America, but have it air over seas. We can only hope it sells well enough around the world. And by the way, the other countries got much better cover art.

I hope they take out Dinotopia on Season 2 because when I buy Season 1 I want it to continue the story.
If they don't well too bad I'll won't buy it then.

Yeah, I didn't really like the cover (it was too wordy for me).
I personally loved "The Cure" and "Crossroads".
But it can't continue-because I really wanted Carl and Frank to be able to go home.
There was talk of doing a reunion-type mini-series (with the new cast) that would tie up these loose ends, but all we need is the end to "Crossroads".
If they were to do another mega-series, it should have been a combination of these final three episodes.

Browsing the IMDB I found this entry next to Tara Strong (the voice of Bubbles in the PowerPuff Girls)
Dinotopia: Curse of the Ruby Sunstone (2004) (post-production) (voice) .... Mara
So it looks like more Dinotopia is on the way for Dinotopia fans!

Although this seems like a sort of "prequel" to the mega-series, instead of tying up the loose ends.
Oh, well: it's still Dinotopia!
EDIT: Just did a quick search for this movie, and apparantly Alyssa Milano will also star.

Isn't Tara Strong also the voice of Melody in Little Mermaid 2 or am I thinking of someone else? I know there's a girl, who I think was also the French girl in the Sabrina the Teenage Witch TV movies, who has done A LOT of voice work for cartoons.2099net wrote:Browsing the IMDB I found this entry next to Tara Strong (the voice of Bubbles in the PowerPuff Girls)

Cool a Dinotopia thread! I love the books and love the mini-series and own it on DVD and I watched the show when it was on but I haven't picked up the DVD yet. I've been following the animated series a bit and I was sort of expecting this. It's like some of the young adult/ childrens Dinotopia books that I have no interest in but maybe kids will like it, see the mini-series and TV series and get hooked.
I'm really surprised the show didn't continue. It was on at a tough time on Thursdays at 8pm and the ratings were kind of low but I was almost praying that they would move it to after The WonderfulWorld of Disney or before it or show it during that time or SOMETHING like that. Part of me hoped Hallmark would pick up the show for their own station that they have (although never have seen).
One day I would love to see another mini-series or even movie on an IMAX screen based on the books and set in the past. The modernized version didn't bother me too much since it tied in with the past and didn't ignore it but I'm more interested in the past.
