Well enigmawing I agree with a lot of what you said, but, as for the very last thing...sorry but, unless we come to an agreement I'm going to have to say that is just your opinion. If someone gets hurt, even if I wasn't crying but was still hurt, I'm going to ask someone if they would please...oh wait, did you even know what I was trying to do? I first explained (VERY politely by the way, perfectly acceptably) why I was hurt and how Disney and Pixar were two seperate things and why I thought their comment was wrong as in maybe they would change their mind or take it back. If they didn't, I would have left it alone.
Meanwhile, what you and many others did was just assume that I was demanding the person take it back and make them do it even if they refused or something like that. And it was really between me and the other person. You could have said "they don't have to take it back" and then I would have said "I agree, I'm going to see if they might want to after what I said to them", but no, you didn't do that, you just attacked. And you say I'd be causing more problems? No, if someone apologized, that would end the problem, they're the real ones who have the ability to cause more problems. If they refused, THEN I might let it go even though they're wrong, and then that would also end the problem.
And for the record, I don't want to cause a problem with you, but I will not let people slander me either. I don't even have a real problem with you, I am just standing up for myself.

Well, I knew like any forum there'd be disputes because, y'know, different opinions and everything...Super Aurora wrote: You have a lot to learn, my friend.
But I thought this would be a slightly calmer, more respectful forum. Some other places on the internet are just nasty. There are arguments all the time.
It's not that hard to not get angry or rude just because someone says something you don't agree with. Considering what the subject matter is.

Well yes, it's just my opinion that it's silly to get so personally hurt over such impersonal comments, but I'm not about to back down from that. People all over the place have real problems, and you're getting upset over people having differing opinions on an entertainment company than you, opinions that weren't even made in a negative light! Nothing personal here but I'm sorry, I simply fail to grasp why you apparently get so hurt every time someone praises anything you don't consider to contain proper Disney essence.Disney Duster wrote:Well enigmawing I agree with a lot of what you said, but, as for the very last thing...sorry but, unless we come to an agreement I'm going to have to say that is just your opinion.
Who is making the assumptions here? Where did I ever say you made "demands" over the issues we're currently discussing?Disney Duster wrote:Meanwhile, what you and many others did was just assume that I was demanding the person take it back and make them do it even if they refused or something like that.
And as for defamation of character, that would be libel, not slander . . . which I don't feel I'm doing. Once again, nothing personal, but I'm having problems grasping how I could have possibly "slandered" you in my post when I was simply giving my own opinion.Disney Duster wrote:And for the record, I don't want to cause a problem with you, but I will not let people slander me either. Enigmawing, there is another definition of slander that is not from law and doesn't specify a difference between spoken or written words. Also, please don't exaggerate/lie, I was not hurt because someone praised something that didn't have Disney essence, I was hurt when someone said that something else had the Disney feel when only Disney can and should have the Disney feel. They didn't say it was "like" a Disney feel. They didn't say it felt to them like it felt like Disney. Please let's not get more into it, because it didn't matter, I didn't demand them to take it back, I just asked, and they never responded so I let it go.
Nothing can stop that Disney Duster should stand up for himself? Got itDisney Geek wrote:I guess I spoke too soon. It seems nothing can stop a Disney Duster Derail.

Can we just ban Disney Duster for a while? Even after someone threw him a bone, all he ever does is disrupt threads.

Sorry, but due to the vague and ever-evolving definitions you've given I didn't realize that there was any real difference between a "Disney feel" and the "Disney essence," or that I was somehow lying/exaggerating when I explained my opinion on why I thought you were getting upset over something silly. Regardless I still don't understand why you feel the need to take any of these statements about Disney or Pixar personally. I understand you're very attached to certain concepts but other people's opinions on them is in no way a reflection on you.
And once again, where on earth did I ever say you made "demands?" You tell me I'm making assumptions but you're the one doing it, and on top of that you're telling me I'm somehow not only being slanderous, but a liar?
Regardless, I hate to see a fun thread like this ruined along with a few others that already have been, which is why I initially stepped in to participate with the language/rules discussion in an attempt to settle things. But this discussion is invading too many threads and I don't have the authority to say enough is enough. As usual, the conversation ends up running around in circles so I'm stepping away from it.
one forum im on has a sin bin and members get "sent" there when repeated warnings to cool it go unheeded. basically, they can see and read the site, but the colors are in tones of pink [its a biker site] and they cant reply to threads for however long the mods decide. it gives time for arguments like this to settle and generally vanish down the pages.Semaj wrote:Can we just ban Disney Duster for a while? i am getting sick of the same disagreement being posted in the majority of threads, mainly cos it takes a fun thread like this one and runs it off course.

Yea? Well maybe people shouldn't mention something from another thread about asking someone to do something in another thread. Because that's what happened.
Look enigmawing, there's really no problem here accept one last thing, and that is when I say those comments hurt me personally, I don't mean they are saying something wrong about me, but something wrong about something I love, that I feel hurt. If someone said a friend of yours was something they were not, you would be personally hurt.

That's an actual toy. From a toy company made in.......Neal wrote:![]()
I'm dying! Who ever greenlighted such a creepy Woody doll? Or was it modified.
Wait for it.....
JAPAN.
Basically it was done by Rolvotech who mostly do figurines from anime and usually mecha ones(evangelion for example). They also make toys from other stuff and Toy Story happen to be one of they ones they decided to make. So when they made the prototype woody verison, it look like THAT(and some people were able to buy it.). What's even funnier is that you can move the eyes around the way you want them to be.
So yes it is an actual toy. but the final product is normal looking(though you can still moves it's eyes. Just no creepy grin).
Why is there no outcry yet? Well one, It's made in Japan and distributed only in Japan(the land that has all the good shit), and also the toy company that makes it is a company usually geared to young adults and geeks who are toy collectors. They aren't a kids marketed toy company. Pixar has yet to comment about that Woody.
