I don't think this needs a new thread so I'll just post it here.
This is a song off of some Pokemon CD...anyway it's been mixed to pay homage to the Villains of The Lion King

Am I the only one who wishes the Trilogy would be released NOT in combo form? (or at least also release a non-combo Blu-ray edition)? All the extra discs are making the price uncomfortably high. They have a DVD-only trilogy being released so I would also like a Blu-ray only trilogy release as well as I don't want or need the DVDs. (and for the love of God, keep the 3D version out as well as I REALLY don't want or need that. That alone is making the price high. Don't even get me started on that digital copy disc as well.) Of the 8 discs, I'm only going to be using 3 of them!!!

I agree with you on this, yet I do prefer to have combo discs. In case of portability, I would use the DVDs or if kids would want to play the film in another room with only a dvd player. So combo packs do have advantages... BUT WHY MUST IT BE SO EXPENSIVE?!The_Iceflash wrote:Am I the only one who wishes the Trilogy would be released NOT in combo form? If it's anything to blame, it should be Blu-rays, DVDs Laserdiscs and VHS that ended or decreased the cinema re-releases. Disney knew people would rather own a copy of the film at home than seeing it again and again in theaters, so they go what the public wants.Mason_Ireton wrote:I kinda felt cheated when Disney stopped releasin the classics to cinemas

No it wouldnt. Blu-rays and Combo Packs arent that different in price. And for comparison, just look at the Blu-ray only LOTR Extended Edition trilogy. That's 1...........never mind. bad example.The_Iceflash wrote:an 8 disc to 3 disc difference wouldn't change the price that much?ajmrowland wrote:^Trust me; very few combo packs actually cost much more than a standalone edition. The price wouldnt change much for this.
Edit: forgot the 3D version, but even that's a few dollars at best.

I just got back from a 3D presentation of "The Lion King" and it was stunning. Since my guess is that this new theatrical version will be the one featured on the Blu-ray/new DVD, here's what you can expect come October:
- the touch-ups made for the IMAX version have not been corrected/returned to the original state, so the re-animated waterfall and crocodiles are still present
- scrolling end credits are back, and -- the best part --
- "Morning Report" is out (or at least it won't be featured in the default version of the film)
If you guys want to know anything else, ask away!

What can we expect pic wise Mooky? is the restoration bet'ter, what sections did they put in 3d??
