Which Survivor do you want to play next?
There are a lot of topics with which we can play our next Survivor game, so I thought I'd leave that up to you. Sully has the princess/heroine game going on, and here's a list of 3 other topics that I thought would be fun. Please only vote once.

No... why would it be a joke?
MMP- barely recognized you with that new (and surprising) avatar.
We've talked this over in PMs before. I realize you and 3 others have asked to "take over" (not my words)
, but I would like to continue hosting the game. It's something I've hosted on different MBs for years, and is a lot of fun for me. Of course, I didn't invent it, but I do somewhat feel like it's 'my baby' in an online message board-type sense. If you'd like to start your own game, like Sully has, then that's between you and Luke. And besides, aren't you already slated to "take charge" of the next Survivor On The Forum?

I dunno the songs of one movie seems like it would be boring and lead to predictable results.

Live Action would be fun, and perhaps we could do something where if 10 or more members haven't seen a movie it's automatically disqualified? Splitting it into Recent and Classic seems reasonable, but then I don't know how many of the pre-'80 films have been readily seen by members. Sure, there are those that everyone's seen but lots that I know I haven't and I don't think many others have.
Your call, though, awall. You know what you're doing when it comes to Survivor!

Although I voted for Direct to Video, Live Action is also interesting.
I think Luke's idea to split it is excellent. Perhaps in Walt's lifetime(to Happiest Millionaire) and afterwards. Afterwards may also be splittable. Perhaps 68-84(the beginning of the Eisner period and 84-after.

That so almost went up on the list, lol, but I figured Sully has a character Survivor going on, so people would probably prefer do a movie game for this one. Plus, these 3 seem to have been in higher demand than others, and we just had the whole evil laugh and best demise polls. I'm sure we'll definitely get to it one day. I love the villains!

Well if DTV gets chosen, there will be 38 to 47 films included, so it would use a very similar format to the Animated Classics Survivor. We'd only use actual 'movies'- not TV shows, compilations, or things like Treasures. This is simply because there'd be way too many if we did this, and all of these things will be able to find their home in more specific Survivor games of the future. Why 38 to 47? Because there are 9 titles that I'm not sure if they would meet the qualifications or not, and I'd have to ask Luke first. Since there have been some questions raised regarding this, I'll post the movies that would be used for this. Live Action has even more, and of course, we'd have to devise something special for that. Something along the lines of what Luke suggested would probably work very well. Songs of The Little Mermaid would feature the tracks of the OTS CD. I've played this game with CDs before, and it can be just as fun.
So there's a look at how each of these 3 would be... something to keep in mind when deciding which to vote for.
Here are the 'contestants' for DTV:
TLK 2
TLK 1.5
Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo
George Of The Jungle 2
Stitch! The Movie
Atlantis: Milo’s Return
The Brave Little Toaster To The Rescuer
The Brave Little Toaster Goes To Mars

The Other Side Of Heaven
Kiki’s Delivery Service
Castle In The Sky
Inspector Gadget 2

Hey I voted for Live Action, and if you do Direct to Video you should split it into Live Action and Animation. Also, you shouldn't include The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit or whatever it's called, because A. Virtually no one's seen it and B. It's a Touchstone film. That's why Nightmare shouldn't have been included in other animation. It's a Disney film yes but clearly it says Touchstone on the DVD and video. Hey, there's an idea: Anyone up for Touchstone, Miramax or Dimension Survivior?

Cheers,
JM

You might wanna check the General Discussion forum for why Nightmare most certainly is a Disney film.
As for the Ice Cream movie, I've never seen it either, lol, and know absolutely nothing about it. I'm just going by Luke's list, and he has it listed here. The lists have yet to steer me wrong, lol.

Hmm, Maltin said it was a Disney film, but it does appear on the Touchstone site. I didn't think Touchstone typically did many PG-rated DTV features, but it's possible that this one should be removed from the list.
As for the other DTVs, there clearly aren't enough live action ones to do one entirely on that. I suppose we could scratch the 25-minute featurette-length shorts (Prince & The Pauper, Christmas Carol) as those were in theaters and aren't feature-length. Schoolhouse Rock should be scratched too, but I think the direct-to-video Recess films perhaps belong there, and Winnie the Pooh: Merry Pooh Year. I must admit that I've seen less than 10 of these.

To me the Maltin book is the unofficial official guide to Disney films. If it is in there, it is a Disney film.

Wait a second! Kiki's Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky? They were Studio Ghibli movies, that were released theatrically in Japan and some other countries but was released directly to video in the US and some western countries. I think we should not have region bias and disqualify these 2 movies for this Survivor game.awallaceunc wrote:Here are the 'contestants' for DTV:

Also: IMDb doesn't say anything about Summer Of Monkeys and The Other Side Of Heaven being DTV films, it was probably the same as the previous 2 films: theatrically released in somewhere else and was direct-to-video in US; I think American Legends are just compilations of old films, it shouldn't be considered as a movie as whole.
