Looks good. I would have liked to see a few more moments of that video though. Well, I guess I have to watch Arrietty first (still waiting for Madman to set a date, but it will probably be August or September if we go by Ponyo's release), but this one should be good.

And it looks like it could be a father and son movie (behind the scenes that is with the Miyazaki's - producer and director).

Can't wait to see an official trailer.

Watched this trailer yesterday on The Ghibli Blog, looking forward to eventually seeing this. I have a feeling it will be a little bit of a wait though, at least in the US anyway. We're not getting a theatrical premiere of Arrietty until February 2012.

Not sure how reliable this is, but according to The Ghibli Blog, the English title for this film will be From Up on Poppy Hill.

No problem, "From Kokuriko Hill" was the same thing I was calling it, too.

I don't think any of the Studio Ghibli canon is available online (legally, anyway), but you can watch Hayao Miyazaki's 1979 directoral debut, The Castle of Cagliostro, on Hulu for free: http://www.hulu.com/watch/219524/the-ca ... cagliostro Although this isn't a "Studio Ghibli" title, you'll still notice a lot of the same themes and artistic stylings of his later works.

Another great way to see the older Ghibli films is to check out your local library network. I discovered the studio a little late (Ponyo was the first film I saw), but I've been making my way through their films by borrowing them on DVD from my library. Although your closest library might not have the films on the shelf, you can usually have them transferred between libraries in the network for pick-up.

So far, I've seen all the Ghibli films available in the US except Princess Mononoke, The Cat Returns, Howl's Moving Castle, and Tales from Earthsea (plus Only Yesterday and Ocean Waves, which aren't currently available in the US).

This movie looks to be about the same kinda pace of "Whisper of the Heart". Which is good, because I really liked that movie. Not much happened, but it felt like a very emotional journey.

Does anyone know how this did critically in Japan?
