Since no one seems to be answering you right now, I will step in.

I would say that you do need to use your judgement and look at what other people do, BUT since you seem to be admitting you are unsure of what to do, then I will try to make it clear on how I think it is supposed to be.

If you have something to say about The Lion King movie, then try to find some thread that has a title like "The Lion King Discussion" or "What do you think of The Lion King?" If you have something to say about the DVDs and their many bonus features, cover art, or things like that, then you should find a thread with a title like "The Lion King DVD" or "The Lion King: Diamond Edition" because the "Diamond Edition" part applies to the Blu-ray and DVD.

When they took out the bells for the Sultan in Aladdin, that applied more to the DVD of Aladdin, because it is the DVD that removed the bells. So a thread with something like "Aladdin: Platinum Edition" or "Aladdin DVD" in the title would be best.

The Ariel animatronic thing was rather hard to find a thread for. But there may have been a thread with"Disneyland updates" or "Disney World updates" or "Theme Park updates" or "Main Street" in the titles. But if you couldn't find anything like that, it was alright to make a whole thread just about the Ariel animatronic.

So if you can't find a thread that really fits what you want to post about, then you can make a whole new one.

Now, some people get this wrong all the time, and sometimes we tell them, but sometimes we let it go or we don't get to them. It's just that I noticed you were making a lot of new threads, so I really felt the need to tell you about it. But hopefully now, everything should be fine!

Good luck! Hope this was helpful! And yea, the search function should be fixed so you have an easier time doing this! The most helpful tool the Search function will have, that it doesn't have right now because it's broken, is the box you can check for "Search topic title only". That box will help alot, if it gets fixed and put back in!

Quite honestly, Jackoleen, I'm not so positive about the rules either these days. As it stands, though, the most important thing to watch for is to make sure that you are creating threads in the proper category. (Disney Discussion vs. Theme Parks vs. Off-topic, etc.)

If somebody corrects you, don't feel offended. We all make mistakes.
