I found this at a flea market that's going on at the local mall today and all weekend for $3 with slipcover and it was mint...even the disc...I figured for that price I'd get it...
Saw the Director's cut last week at the Real Canadian Superstore for $7 on their Father's Day rack.disneyboy20022 wrote:

I've heard mixed reviews on the set. My friend says it looks/sounds great, but a lot of sites are reporting problems with Fellowship's transfer (having a green tint). Do the movies fill up 2 Blu-rays? I could see them still using 2 discs if the transfer was too large to fit on 1 disc.dvdjunkie wrote:BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!! This week's New Line Blu-ray release of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy is a real rip-off. The Extended Editions are on Blu-ray (2 discs each, so you still have to change discs) and the other 9 discs in the set are all standard DVD.
After viewing again, the third time in the last few weeks, I have decided to pass on this set. The Digitally-Mastered Standard DVD's of the Extended Editions of all three films are way above average, and I can't see wasting the money on Blu-rays that will not have an additional extras.
I was really bummed that they still put each movie on two discs, they would fit comfortably on one disc, but that is their loss. I will not be buying this set.
jrboy, please please pleeeease, can you post some pics of those new packings when you receive them? Specially showing the spines... Thaaaaaanks!jrboy wrote:
