I found this on a link from a forum I regularly visit, wdwmagic. Basically, the poster claims that the recent retirement of Al Weiss might be part of a larger company plan to sell off the theme parks and resorts. Now, I haven't had the chance to look too much further into this and so I haven't really decided how feasible such a suggestions is and obviously anything read on a fan forum should be taken with a pinch of salt but it's an interesting post nonetheless.

I'm assuming it's similar to Tokyo Disneyland being owned by the Oriental Land Company but licensed by Disney. I don't know whether this is even feasible, that Disney would really be stupid enough to sell such an important outlet as the theme parks but obviously some think that this could be very possible.

I'm pretty sure the theme parks, especially the home-based ones, bring in some of the biggest profits for the company. I just don't see this happening. Heck, the whole reason we even have a HKDL is because Disney wanted to capatilise a bit on what the OLC enjoyed all these years with TDL.

hmmm that's weird.
Also I remember Tim telling me that DL's and WDW's branch work under different company divisions or something. Maybe he can enlighten us on all this.
