Of course Disneyland ofters more than recreations of castles and old buildings, but it is something that should be considered - why go to a copy when you can go to a real life old building?
The castle at Disneyland Paris wasn't meant to be a copy since the Imagineers knew Europeans would be bored with castles. The DLP castle is supposed to be a very fairytaleish castle while overseas there isn't as much emphasis of fantasy. It's how in the It's a Small World in DLP has more about the regions of America rather than a tour of Europe.
