Wait...did she actually know he was your boyfriend or that you were gay?Poody wrote:She's not. At least, as far as I know? She's been very nice to me and my boyfriend when we met her. She didn't offer to "pray" for us, like our lesbian friend from Canada. Maybe she just doesn't approve of lesbians *shrug*DisneyJedi wrote: But she's not the gay-bashing type of homophobic, is she?LOL j/k

I'll do a bigger post later, but I have to say, I'm in love with the ride ! <3 Its beautiful, touching, colourful, musical, fun ..... everything it should be !
I'm not blind to its faults either, but for what its worth, it exceeded my expectations
Full review later .... (if anyone cares to read it,obviously, lol).

Here's a couple pics. I wore my Eric cosplay wig. Though I hadn't shaved, since I'm suppose to be Flynn for an event tomorrow... so I was "Fleric"![]()
OMG I have always wanted to meet Pat Carroll! What was she like/what did she say?? Lol sorry I am a big fan of her and not just because of Ursula but that is a big part of it lol.

I'm actually not surprised by that. I can imagine Benson felt awkward when it turned out that Mermaid was a huge gay icon.disneyprincess11 wrote:I doubt it. She looks like a big sweetheart. I guess she loves gay people based on her experience with Howard Ashman, but doesn't believe in gay marriage, gay couples etc.DisneyJedi wrote: Umm.... Okay...? Thanks.

And Pat Carroll looks so old.

*Been reading, but don't comment since I won't be able to visit DisneyWorld or anything like that for a year or so at least, so it's irrelevant to me.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"
She was AMAZINGLY nice. After everything was over she walked to her wheel chair (yeah, she CAN still walk...) and waved to people and said "I lost my family!"Jay wrote: OMG I have always wanted to meet Pat Carroll! She would let us leave until we got a good picture. She kept holding on to my boyfriend's arm. She was soooo funny!

Awwwww sounds like an awesome experience. Glad to hear she can walk! I hope to meet her one day.Poody wrote:She was AMAZINGLY nice. I was just at DCA and DL on Friday, so I got to go on Ariel's Undersea Adventures for the first time. I wasn't really expecting to enjoy it, since I'm not the biggest fan of the movie, but I think with this ride, they actually raised the bar for the dark room ride. They did a pretty awesome job at making the ride immersive and authentic. I loved how they really make you feel like you're under the sea and how all the set pieces looked just like they should. My only gripes were Ariel's animatronics (they didn't look like her at all, to me) and the ending (it wasn't like the movie). But Ursula's animatronic was amazing, and so was the music, and the overall atmosphere. Plus, the lobby was gorgeous, as were the details in the entire buidling. I was very impressed and will definitely go on it whenever I'm there.
Here's hoping they continue to keep the high standard of new rides for DCA.

Whoa, Ariel's face is creepier now O_O I honestly like the first one better. It's more true to the movie, plus she's dancing.supertalies wrote:They recently made some minor changes, including Ariel's hair in the Under the Sea scene!

It looks so much better!
They also changed the animation and made some scenes darker.

This is hilariously just like what's going on with the Netherlands musical!
I think they just needed to be able to animate her hair better.
Did people complain about her hair?
She could have always had a better face in every single animatronic of her.

Did they change the badly done animation of her becoming human?!supertalies wrote:They also changed the animation and made some scenes darker.

Hehe, I was thinking the exact same thingDisney Duster wrote:This is hilariously just like what's going on with the Netherlands musical!

I think the new hair here looks good from the front, but it looks kind of weird from the side. It's really flat. However, I also didn't mind her old hair.
Appearantly people were indeed complaining about the hair. They said she didn't 'look like Ariel'.
And yes, they changed the animation in the beginning of the ride, with Ariel and Flounder, and the one where she becomes a human. It's 2D animated now. People didn't like the animated bits, because there were three 'versions' of Ariel in the ride (animatronic, CGI and 2D animation). Now there is just two.
They also added more bubbles on the walls and made Under The Sea and Poor Unfortunate Souls darker.
