Who else visited Disneyland around the time of the 50th Ann.

Post by Jackoleen »

Dear Disney Enthusiasts,

Who else visited Disneyland around the time of Disneyland's 50th Ann.? I visited the park during 2006, but I was glad that I was there during 2006 instead of during 2005, for one really important reason:

* 2006 was the 40th Anniversary year of Walt's death, and it was the 20th Anniversary of the death of a child from my family who had loved all things Disney, so I felt as though my visit was sort of more memorable because it occurred during a year that ended in a 6. I was sort of sad while I was in the park, but I was glad that I was there during 2006.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Best Disneyland trip ever! I was at the actual 50th on July 17, 2005. The park was decked out gorgeous, everything was sparkling and looked brand-new. Had a fabulous time.

I hate to act like a moderator when I'm not one, but you keep on posting theme park related topics in the more general Disney movie forum when we've got a theme parks board here.

And as for me, no. I've never been to California, period.

I was there on the actual day of the 50th anniversary! Eisner and Schwarzenegger were there. And they kept passing out free gold frosting-covered cupcakes. (Not Eisner and Schwarzenegger, but random cast members around the park.) Needless to say, I ate a lot of cupcakes that day.

This brings back memories, although I forgot that Luke never got around to finishing the article:

I was there for a week in late April/early May of 2006. I have Sleeping Beauty Castle decked out for the 50th Anniversary as my screen saver!

I will be at WDW in October for the 40th Anniversary.

2005 and 2006 bring back great memories of Disneyland.

I remember how in 2004 every inch of the park was undergoing a restoration project, and it just sparkled during the 50th Anniversary.
