Terrible Quality Movies you love

Post by TheZue »

Since people were concerned that favorite movies were showing up in the perfect movie thread, this is the thread for your guilty pleasures. Movies you know are terrible, but love them anyways:) Here's my list:

First Knight I loved this one despite the worst blue screen ever, and the telephone poles in the background.

Freddy Got Fingered It's so bad that it's good.

Batman The Movie This is one of my all time favorite movies. It's just so cheesy :)

Mars Attacks

Spaced Invaders One of my favorite movies to watch around Halloween

Even though it's reviled by millions, I admit I like Grease 2 quite a bit. Although I like the original more, of course, I admit there are some aspects of Grease 2 I like more and it's a very guilty pleasure of mine. This could because of nostalgia since I've been seeing both films since I was 4. Perhaps if I had only grown up with the original and saw the sequel for the first time now, I'd hate it like countless others do; I don't know. But I love its campiness all the same. :D

Well, it's not really a movie...but the TV series H.R. PuffnStuff, my parents got the series on DVD, and I was watching a few of them, and dispite the bad quality, bad special effects, and what-not, I enjoyed it!
Even though it's a little kid's television series...
But, hey! The songs are great!

My major Guilty pleasure must be Street Fighter: The Movie, the live action one (but I also love all the animated movies too).

I also adore the Mystery Science Theater 3000 show and discs. Why? Because long before even knowing about MST3K me and my geeky schoolfriends used to do out own "riffing" of bad movies.

Oh, I also adore "Manos, the Hands of Fate" either Misted or un-Misted.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Well, usually, if I really like a movie, that means that I think it has some measure of quality. For example, I really get a kick out of Freddy Got Fingered - but I wouldn't say it's "so bad, it's good", because it serves its purpose of being funny/entertaining.

However, I if I had to pick certain movies that would fit the "guilty pleasures catagory," it would be:

The Matrix Reloaded - Poor story and characters, but I think its incredibly rewatchable. I always really enjoy it.

Men in Black II - Basically, a rehash of the first, but I like it anyway.

Spy Kids 3-D - I think the movie itself is awful, but I like the 3-D experience at home.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - How dare I! Yes, I do think the movie is a guilty pleasure. It's really just an action movie, pure and simple, and one with a lot of slow parts & without the very human personal drama of FOTR. But as it fits in with the first and third (which I consider to be much better), I enjoy it.

Barbie as Rapunzel - I can't explain myself for this one. Yeah, I enjoy it. Don't ask why, because I don't know.

I love Star Trek IV, the one with the whales. Yes, it's a cheezy as hell, but I love it all the same. There are so many classic one-liners in there that you could make a drinking game out of it!
