The Simpsons Season 14 coming to DVD and Blu-Ray soon!!

"Late in March we posted what (little) info we had about Fox's upcoming release of The Simpsons - The Complete 14th Season. Fans of the show have been e-mailing us for a few weeks now, telling us about overseas artwork for "The 14th Season" after the title was announced in Europe. As we've explained to each of them, we can't and won't use non-North-American art here at TVShowsOnDVD, since we're a Region 1 (USA and Canada) website. We've had to patiently wait for Fox Home Entertainment to deliver the finalized domestic package images to us. Which they've just done this evening!

As you can see, the character on the cover this time is either Kang or Kodos, the drooling aliens from Rigel VII that debuted in the very first "Treehouse of Horror" installment (and have appeared, however briefly at times, in every ToH Halloween episode ever since, plus other episodes). Fans may wonder: which of them IS this on the box, Kang or Kodos? The answer is: take your pick. The two characters are drawn the same, and the notable difference between the two would be their voices ("Kodos", voiced by Dan Castellaneta, has a deeper voice than Harry Shearer's "Kang", who doesn't laugh as much and has been introduced as both a male and a female in different episodes).

At the top you'll see the DVD version of The Simpsons - The Complete 14th Season: Limited Edition Collector's Box, the embossed/raised version which isn't expected to be available for Blu-ray format. Below that you'll see the Blu-ray artwork for the standard packaging version of The Simpsons - The Complete 14th Season, which will appear the same way for the DVD for those who don't want the special LE version of the package. NO street date or pricing has been provided yet, but traditionally there is often a Simpsons home video release at the end of August. Hopefully we'll get an official announcement soon with an exact schedule, so stay tuned for updates! Our thanks to every reader that took the time to send us a note about this title for any reason."

I am going to have to pass on this. I stopped buying at Season 12 and I no longer (or rarely) watch the show on Sundays. That was the last true decent season of The Simpsons for me. None of these episodes really warrent a replay for me.

MAYBE, if it ever comes to a decent price, then MAYBE I will buy it, but it's not that likely.

Check at:

www.cdtradepost.com

in a week or so, and you can probably save 50% on the price of buying it new.

The Simpsons have worn out their welcome in our house. I gave up on them after season 10 also, but then later picked up 11 and 12 at $7.99 each at CD Tradepost. Check them out.
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

They're still welcome at my house.

Interesting they used the Aliens. You'd think they'd be among the last characters to get cover art.

Kang and Kodos invite you to add this Emmy Award winning season to your collection filled with your favorite guest stars (Mick Jagger, Lenny Kravitz, Tony Hawk, Blink 182, and more) and exclusive features that will satisfy your hunger. The Simpsons Season 14 is available on Blu-ray and DVD.
Today Fox Home Entertainment officially solicited to retailers The Simpsons - The Complete 14th Season, which we've previously reported will be in stores on December 6th. They've confirmed that the DVD version ($49.98 SRP for a 4-disc set) will have both the normal package and a special "Limited Edition Collector's Box", both seen below. The studio has also made a small change to the packaging of the Blu-ray Disc version ($59.99 SRP for a 3-disc set), which is also seen below...the BD set will NOT get the limited edition box version. More importantly, they've revealed the complete list of bonus material for these!
A Haunting Invite From Matt Groening
Audio Commentaries on every episode with Executive Producers Al Jean and Mike Scully, joined by Writers, Actors and Directors
It's Only Rock 'N' Roll
The 300th Episode Featurette
In The Beginning
The Halloween Classics
Foolish Earthlings
Deleted Scenes with Commentary
Multi-Angle Animation Showcase
Original Sketches
Bonus Treehouse of Horror Episodes (exclusive to Blu-ray)
Special Language Feature and much more!
Those will accompany the 22 featured episodes running 482 minutes (bonus Treehouse of Horror episodes exclusive to the Blu-ray version bring the BD set's running time up to 527 minutes). The DVD specs show full screen video, audio options in English 5.1 Dolby Digital, French Dolby Digital and Spanish Dolby Digital, plus subtitles in English and Spanish. For the Blu-ray version the episodes will continue to be in full screen 1.33:1 aspect ratio (as originally aired), but in high definition resolution. Audio options include English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, French: 5.1 Dolby Digital, and Spanish: 5.1 Dolby Digital. English and Spanish subtitles are on board as well. As of this writing Amazon only lists one of the DVD sets, and isn't actually accepting pre-order for it yet. Stay tuned!"

My thoughts exactly! I hate it that to continue my Head shaped Simpson collection I have to choose dvd over bluray or double-dip to get high definition! :(
