Too bad this didn't make it onto the official soundtrack CD:
*warning*: NSFW - Hey, it's Lonely Island so there is some swearing. :D

I have seen the movie (it premiered in Norway May 18th), and I loved it! It focuses more on Jack Sparrow, and you can tell that there is a new director. And since it is filmed in 3D, the 3D works really well. The movie was fun and entertaining, and I can't wait to see what will happen in Pirates 5 and 6. Remember to stay until after the credits for a litte teaser;)

I am going to see it again in 3D tomorrow.

Having seen all the previews and upcoming features on the film has made rather excited (including seeing Depp, Rush, McShane, and Cruz), however the presence of the characters of Philip and Serena kind of repulse me from wanting to see it.

Will and Liz were long and by far my least favorite characters in the second and third films, and here I was hoping there would be no secondary whiny romantic couple in the second one. Granted the concept of Serena being mermaid does make her at face value more interesting, but I have a feeling they're going to go with a cliched happy ending of her growing legs so she can be with him (for once I'd like to see the situation in reverese, where the man becomes more fascinated with the sea and becomes a merman to join her under the sea).

I'm still hoping though they might wind up to be more interesting than Will and Liz, rather than just seem to be cliched ripoffs.

I am, strange corporate advertiser. :P I'm actually going to the US to see it in IMAX 3D as well. I'm already wearing my "Aztec gold" necklace and am looking for my Pirates tee!

Planning to go sometime next week to an afternoon showing after I get off work. Glad to know that I need to stick around after the credits.

I'm really happy that my local theater has also decided to show this movie in 2D.

Went to our World Class IMAX theater at midnight last night to see the movie, and it was well worth the time we have had to wait for this one. Ian McShane almost steals every scene he is in, and Johnny Depp is given a little more to do in this film. Some great one-liners, and, yes, there is a little tease after the credits for the next installment, for which Depp has already said that he is in for the ride.

Check out the lush settings we get to see our movies in here in Kansas.

I'd have loved to make the midnight showing but didn't want to be out so late since Rey has to work today. We'll definitely make it sometime this weekend though. :)

**SPOILERS**

Well, I saw it last night, and I was very pleased. I was so happy with the ending, and the little teaser at the end is a great lead up to the next one (*fingers crossed*). I was so worried that Jack would have a major character change, so I was happy to see that he is still the same old Jack. Ian McShane was amazing, as was Geoffrey Rush. (And Johnny, of course) I liked how they ended it with Serena and Philip, seemed less cliche. I loved Penelope Cruz as Angelica, but I hope she isn't in the next one. I think they should just let it be, with her on the island. The ending of OST was so in keeping with the endings of the rest of the films, I loved it. Jack got the Pearl back, not to mention a whole fleet! :P Barbossa's whole plot line was fantastic, I liked the revenge plot for him better than him wanting the Fountain. And his ending was great too. Glad to see him back to being a pirate.

All in all, I need to go back for a second viewing before I decide where this stands in respect to the other 3 films. But it was nothing like I had feared, and I don't want to wait another week before I can see it again! :P

I was a little confused. Maybe it was because it was almost 2:30 a.m. and my brain wasn't working properly, but it felt like something was missing. He was dying from his wounds, she said "I can save you if you just ask", then he all he says is forgive me, she kisses him and takes him under water...and that's it! How did she save him exactly? Because the last time we saw that the mermaids starting eating the guy. I liked the movie in general, but leaving it like that pissed me off.

I think this is what happened. Philip wanted forgiveness for making her give up her tear, and then he asked for her forgiveness, and she took him underwater to kill him. That`s my understanding of it, but I could be wrong. I think that the reason she killed him was that that was the only way he could be truly forgiven. I was just happy that she didn't join him on land.

But she kissed him and the pirates think that a mermaid kiss will keep you from drowning... The way we saw him after the kiss it looked like he went willingly with her down rather than just being dragged. Is it possible she made him a merman?
