And to think the comic adaptation of this movie was printed in the hugely popular 'Donald Duck' weekly magazine, read by approximately 2.5 million people (on a population of 16 million, that's considered a lot) and was presented as a "new Disney movie"! Ironically, while all new Disney Classics used to get comic adaptations in the magazine in the 1970's through 1990's, The Wild is the only one since Emperor's New Groove to have been given that privilige.MJW wrote:[...] It's already a shame that this title would get lumped in with the real classics, but the fact that WDAS didn't even create it is just a slap in the face.

Not really... I'm encouraging the movie by buying it, not the special features. If I really like a movie, I'm not going to not buy it just because the special features platter is skimpy. It seems just as likely that Disney's going to be more tempted to force a double dip on us later.ajmrowland wrote:It's great to hear these sales, but......
It's almost like people are encouraging the lack of bonus features on new releases.

^Oh, I know. I buy a movie for the movie too.SpringHeelJack wrote:Not really... I'm encouraging the movie by buying it, not the special features. That was just me lamenting the old days when a movie could bomb and still get lavish DVD treatment for the collector's market.

Yeah, those were the days! I love my Tarzan, Dinosaur, Atlantis, and ENG Collector's editions!
I wouldn't be surprised if by the time Christmas comes around Disney wouldn't try pushing some sort of new special edition on us, especially since sales are so good. If not, maybe 5-7 years from now they'll throw it into the Diamond line or something. We all know how Disney likes to throw curves at us like that.

So guys, forgive me a short post. But, I just watched Tangled and I suggest you watch it on your laptop or REALLY close because if you pay attention hard enough, you can really notice (this sounds stupid) how the background and EVEN the characters look like a watercolor painting!
I was surprised how recent the watercolor appearance/feeling appeared.
BTW (putting it in bold, so everyone can read this): My mom got me ONLY the DVD one, not the BLU-RAY/DVD combo pack. Can someone PLEASE POST the 9 theatrical teasers for me? Thanks!

The word "teaser" is a bit misleading when referring to these kind of videos, so it's understandable you got confused.disneyprincess11 wrote:Oh, those were the teasers???? I never knew that! I thought the teasers would be like the first Tangled trailer, but only they were alternate trailers that would be never used. Sorry, I got confused. Thanks for posting though.
UD Review of 'Tangled' wrote:Playable individually and collectively, nine Tangled teasers (9:12) stand as one of the more interesting and unusual bonus features. Three "Flynn's Tangled Tales" promote the film with crudely-animated original stories. The other six assume the airs of a perfume commercial, an infomercial, a live news report, a real estate ad, an old educational short, and a prescription drug spot. Some are better than others, but all are more appealing and creative than the film's standard teaser and trailer (which, as usual, are absent here).

Looks like it is a Japan-specific service that allows you to get a digital version of the movie on an SD card that you can watch on a mobile phone.MJW wrote:Those are pretty cool, I like the gold-colored border around the Blu-ray 3D combo pack, but what is "e-move?"
Auto-translation:
e-move (TM) is a new standard from Japan, SD card using a "mobile devices to easily take with the film" service. (E-move (TM) → Blu-ray playback device for mobile devices such as SD card →) official website http://disney-studio.jp/e-move/
