Weird way for store customers to show their appreciation

Post by Sky Syndrome »

I'm reading a LiveJournal of some lady who works as a store cashier. She wrote about the management installing a chime system by the service desk and the entrance. Customers pleased with great customer service can press a button on the chime and it loudly plays "There's No Place Like Home". Whoever manages the service desk keeps of how many chimes each cashier and carryout gets and the reward is shiny star stickers for nametags. She (and I) thinks it's all obnoxious.

That sort of reminds me of the Kermit we had when I worked at Target. Whichever cashier sold the most Target Visa cards for a set amount of time got to have a stuffed Kermit hanging off of their light. :kermit:

I never got the Kermit. :p

That seems horrendously awful. I get the idea behind it, but if I had to listen to "There's No Place Like Home" playing all day, I'd intentionally give crappy customer service just to make it stop.
