Re: Night Crossing it breaks my heart every time I watch it. Have ancestry that came from Germany have heard tales of the Natzi Prison Camps the torturous events that happened etc. Night Crossing isn't a movie that you enjoy, it's a learning experience. About a family's strife to escape, you want to really know what it was like talk? Talk to someone who was in a concentration camp a dear friend of my parents was in a Concentration camp for quite some time during WWII and I have heard her discuss it she even wrote a book about her experiences. I think Night Crossing is a must if you want to know more about the time period and it is great for a history class if studying about that time/place in history. So if your looking to this film for enjoyment your barking up the wrong tree if your looking into it for learning purposes to witness a family struggling just for freedom then most definitely watch it. Granted the movie is set in the late 70s with the cold war and not WWII was sharing that as an example but still this movie is a must watch film if your looking for a comedy wrong movie but if your looking to learn and see the struggles of war this is the movie for you.

I saw Swing Kids a while back and liked it well enough. I remember the accents bothering me too. It wasn't as good as it could be. At some points, I felt the acting was a bit off. But, overall, it was better than I expected, and I was satisfied at the end. The most lasting impact of the movie on me was that it opened my eyes to how important swing music was to youths. They were passionate about it. I've always loved swing, but the movie made me see it in a different light.
