I'm also puzzled by this too. Does he think he's hotter and sexier looking than Ashley Tisdale?

The Kardashians and anyone on Jersey Shore (especially that Oompa Loompa Snooki) get my vote. 5 years ago Paris Hilton would have gotten a vote too, but other than her recent arrest for cocaine possession (and her attempt to act like she thought it was gum), I've really not heard much about her. I hope it stays that way.

Okay, maybe I was a little harsh on Ashley Tisdale. I googled her name and came up with a lot of information that I didn't really know about her, but it still doesn't change some of the things that I will stand fast on.

At least on "Phineas & Ferb" I don't have to watch her. And just because she was in "High School Musical" on Disney Channel doesn't mean I have to think she is a great actress, which she isn't. The Ice show I saw was professional ice skaters and had nothing to do with Ashley Tisdale, so I am not barking up the wrong tree.

You, who are so critical of what I say about her, should realize that in my lifetime I have seen really good actresses (worked with some in my short career in Hollywood) and I have seen really mediocre ones and I have seen some terrible ones. Ashley Tisdale is in the mediocre range and when she cimbs out of that, I will be the first to admit that she is a good actress.

Whoever it was that put Clint Eastwood and James Garner in the same level as television actors have to remember they were stars on the screen first before coming to television. They didn't come from the Mickey Mouse Club like some people think. And heaven forbid someone throw out Britney Spears as a talent who started as non-original Mouseketeer. Britney would be third on my list of NO-TALENTS!!!

Nobody is criticizing you for saying Ashley Tisdale is talentless. We were criticizing you for the harsh way you wrote about her fysical appearance. Surely that didn't get past you?

Just keeping you on your toes!!!

I stand by my rantings as I see them. Be careful or I will tell you what I really think about Demi Lovato and Selena Lopez and the Jonas Brothers (make me want to puke) and some of the other "talentless people" that some of you think are God's gift to all.

I just call them as I see them.

Um, Selena . . . Lopez? Didn't you mean Selena Gomez?

Regardless, I don't see a problem complaining about anyone's acting ability or talent. But judging someone's god-given looks, especially when referring to young people as "fugly," is just completely tacky. :p

When I first heard the name "Sharpay" the first thing that came to mind was this:

It's an insult to my city too. Even though most people on Staten Island act just like you see on Jersey Shore.
Plus, the fact that one of them went to my high school around the same time I did (Angelina, I think), makes me want to cry.

Now there's a new reality show out called "Mob Wives" which is already giving SI a bad name.

Thanks to all the photoshopping and other unrealistic expectations of body image thrown at young women these days, don't they already have enough to compare themselves to without someone as attractive as Ashley Tisdale being called fugly? I mean, she's obviously not your cup of tea but she's not likely to cause nightmares either based on looks alone. :p

'Gomez', Selena Gomez is her name. I don't think she's "God's gift" at all, but compared to all the other Disney Channel stars... she can actually act. No, she's not Meryl Streep, but that's not what Disney Channel is offering. Oh, and I think she's hot. No, not 'Scarlett Johansson'-hot... or, to refer to something from your time, 'Gloria Swanson'-hot... :P

Is she the pinnacle of acting and singing? Not by any standard. But is she talentless? I would say she's not. She's the only one to give me a...

... laugh...

while watching the Disney Channel. And that's saying something. ;)

Today, on Comedy Channel's The Roast of Donald Trump, I've seen a perfect assembly of talentless, worthless 'celebrities'. Of course, the guest of honor, "The Donald" himself. He's famous for a reality show in which people beg and plead and let themselves get humiliated just to work for them. Where is their self-esteem? And millions of ordinary working people think he's a hero because he acts like a dick to these other working people, and then fires them? He must have an ego the size of Mars. He has bought himself a fourth import-bride, yet he wants to be president for the 'family values' party? And don't even get me started on the 'birther'-issue! Asking president Obama to show his birth certificate, onl;y to placate the crazy part of the Republican party (which is now official a majority, according to polls). I hate this guy with passion.

Who else was there? A guy from a show called 'Jersey Shore'. I've heard you talk about it on the forum, and now here was someone who called himself 'The Situation'. When it was his time to crack jokes, nobody laughed. Nobody. It was soooooo bad. You could hear the metaphorical pin drop. He even got booed because he sucked that bad. Really, this guy thinks he's God's gift to the world. As I understand, he has never done anything to deserve any attention, yet he behaved like he owns the fucking world.

Then there was Snoop Dogg. What a great culture we have, where we celebrate a criminal like him! Need I really say more about this gang member? I can't believe people buy his records.

Then there were some mediocre comics whose names I didn't bother to remember, except Gilbert Gottfried, because I know him. If he's not the most annoying person in America, I don't know. I thought he was just in-character as Iago, but he's like that always.

Even fucking Glen Beck and Bill-O the Clown think Donald Trump is a nutjob. That's fucking saying something right there. lol

As soon as I saw the very first post, I knew this thread would become heated. Why build a thread on negative opinions? Yeah, there's some annoying people; but the people being scrutinized here are mere children. Selena 'Lopez' and Ashley Tisdale are by no means the next Oscar winners, but they're young kids making money and building their careers out of harmless means. Also, it is so ridiculous when older people criticize the talent of new stars, how about you go watch Grease? Any Oscar winners there? No. Some of them are quite terrible film actors (which doesn't mean they are not good stage actors or singers), but that doesn't mean they are "celebcompoops".

Conversations like these annoy me, I see a Ke$ha thread here, and seeing as I question the quality of her music and find her annoying I stay away from the thread. I also don't like Justin Bieber, but I understand that he is a kid and makes music for kids, I am about five years over his demo so why call him homophobic names like most of my peers? There's no point offending fans and criticizing somebody that will never hear it, "if you have nothing good to say" is a good way to go sometimes, the cozy spot behind your computer shouldn't be an incentive to make hideous comments about a young girl's "fugly" face. Ashley Tisdale created the most memorable character out of a teenage phenomenon, she's doing something right, and she is actually quite pretty.

The 'Jersey Shore' cast and Paris Hilton *still* deserves bashing, milo. Because they are the perfect examples of how we, as a society, now worship lack of talent, lack of knowledge etc.

Well, there's no defending those people. Meanwhile, they're laughing all the way to the bank.

If there's one celebrity I can't stand the sight or sound of, it's Ke$ha.

I'm not one to judge because of my own taste in music, but Ke$ha's just obnoxious as hell, from her voice to her smirk.
Say all you want about pop stars like Lady GaGa, or Rihanna, or Britney Spears (I've got negative things to say about them too), but Ke$ha takes the cake. Her whole schtick is just '"hurr hurr, these people are losers, I don't give a fuck, let's party and drink and throw glitter around cuz it's fun!!! Lol I'm such a dumbass you gaiiz~".

I wonder if she's just trolling the whole music industry, like maybe all of it is an act, but she just reeks of trashiness.

If there is one thing I learned from not just the whole Rebecca Black debacle but from other events like that is that deep down people are sadists, and the ones fueling that are NOT the so called "ignorant", "clueless" fans but the "smart people".

Since I mentioned her, let's take Rebecca Black for an instance. Who were the first to discover her? Not fans of pop music or even friends of Black. The ones who did were internet jackasses who thought they were being smart by trolling her. Then the song landed in the ears of the "smart" people. They declared it the worst song ever heard, inspiring curiosity in people. So they watched the video, and shared it around. Pretty soon, Black was making more money in just a few months than most people do IN A LIFETIME.

So, rather than letting her drift into obscurity, they gave her a lot of exposure and thus indirectly gave her fame and fortune. There is no such thing as bad publicity, and with the internet being tied closer to daily life as ever before it will pour out of its niche and into our normal lives.

It's the same deal with all the people mentioned in this thread: we all claim to hate them with a passion, and yet here we are discussing them. In a way, THEY WON.

What I am getting at is that if you think something is not worth watching or paying attention to, don't mention it every single time because it's very likely someone will be listening and thus go support that person.

So in your all-mighty quest to rid the world of bad pop acts and shallow celebrities, you aided them in getting a hold of our minds and money.

Congratulations! I am sure you feel better for that! :D

(Not mentioning anyone in particular, just saying that often criticizing someone gives them more exposure)

Actually, that fits all of this perfectly. In all the YouTube video rants about other YouTube performers, in all the blog posts demeaning other websites and performers and in all the whining in normal people about things like Twilight and Justin Bieber, deep down they are all saying "I WANT WHAT THEY HAVE BECAUSE I AM BETTER THAN THEM AND I DESERVE THEM".
