Reviews are mixed. But that's always the case with movies aimed specifically at the young ones. Sadly there are many that lose touch with their inner kid and reduce reviews of these movies to "kids will like it". Yeah.... I got that from the trailer, Einstein!

Also, I love how "it runs only 53 minutes" is an argument..... uh, Dumbo was short and that was pretty sweet, right?

I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the film. The animation looks terrific.

Can anybody else make head or tails of that? :?
Oh my mom used to think Zooey Deschanel and Katy Perry were the same person then eventually she realized they were two different people but would always get them mixed up! haha I think what snapped her out of it was how many times I watched Yes Man and (500) Days of Summer! haha

Haha I though that would just kind of be ignored! That song was on when I was writing that comment so I figured jazz it up rather than just say"Pooh is awesome!" haha I think this movie will be really good though! Eeyore and that damn tail!! :(

In all fairness, the newspaper he's associated with (the Daily Mirror) is aimed at a low common denominator, so I'd take his attitude with a pinch of salt.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but I can understand why people are up in arms about the film being so short. I don't think anybody expected a Pooh movie to last upwards of 80 minutes, but a modern theatrical film just peaking over the 60 minute mark is a bit unusual. Needless to say, I think that the "for the kids" dismissal is a bit unfair. Obviously I can't say anything concrete until I see the film, but I imagine reviewers going in and hoping to hate the film from the get-go just because it has "Pooh" written on it.

"The main feature lasts just 54 minutes with a 73-minute running time panned out by two unrelated and quite forgettable shorts; plus an extended closing credits".
Two shorts? :o Isn't it just The Ballad of Nessie? Is there another short playing in front of the film in the UK or do you think that the critic was just confused and mistaken?
According to a commenter on Cartoon Brew who lives in Ireland and has seen the film, there indeed was another short in front of the film which was a "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" short. Odd choice; they just stuck it there to promote the series I suppose.
I caught it today. I was the only one in the cinema but hey at least that meant no crying kids. I thought it was an absolutely wonderful film. The animation was fantastic and I especially loved Rabbit’s exaggerated expressions. As someone else pointed out, it would have been nice if there was more englishness to it. Rabbit with a giant dollar bag seemed a wee bit out of place. The Nessie short at the beginning was a darn well neat addition.

Although, the Jake and the Neverland Pirates short they had before it was painful to watch. Another of these Dora the Explorer HOP WHEN WE HOP thingy-ma-jiggers. And what on earth did they do to Captain Hook? His hook isn’t even a hook any more.

@Sotiris Thanks for posting the videos! I really like how they said there's a new character. I never know about that. Does anyone know who it is?

You're welcome :) There's not really a new character. Bruce Smith is referring to the "Backson" monster that the characters think it has abducted Christopher Robin.

I really wanna see this when its released. I'm having a lot of trouble convincing people to come see it with me, so it'll probably be me on my own 8) haha. Its a shame people think Winnie the Pooh is to kiddy to go and see, cause they are really quite entertaining and funny movies...

I know this was just the first weekend, but is there any word on how much Winnie the Pooh has made overseas? Box Office Mojo doesn't have anything yet.

Oh, yeah! :? :? :? I just checked! Suprised it doesn't have anything yet. But, enjoy a cute photo of Jim Cummings and the 2 directors of the movie that I found on the site while we're speaking about this! :P :P :P

BTW: According to Rotten Tomatoes, Winnie the Pooh has 69% good reviews: 18 are good and 8 are bad. Hopefully, USA reviews will be better.
