I'm pondering whether to part with my DVD of the movie. When I picked it up it came with that Walmart exclusive DVD "Ultimate Ride" which had a few extra bonus features including the "Memory Lane" clip with John Lasseter. Did these make it onto the Blu-Ray?
ajmrowland wrote:^It depends on what the "Ultimate Ride" has on it. I can tell you whether or not the blu-ray has the same stuff.
The Ultimate Ride DVD came with:
1. New Car Finder Experience
2. Cine-Explore
3. "Memory Lane" feature hosted by John Lasseter
Total running time 58 minutes.
If you use the $8 coupon Disney is offering, and plan on seeing Cars 2 in theaters (this comes with a free ticket - well, covers up to $8.50 of one, anyway), then it's probably worth it. Stunning HD transfer. Haven't watched any of the extras yet though.
I did the Best Buy thing last night. Got Cars and Incredibles on bluray, they were $24.95 each, then I got the $10 off. Then the $18 in coupons, so the grand total turned out to be $24. Not too shabby, plus you get the tickets to see Cars 2. So, we will def be going to see that movie.
If you have a Toys R Us nearby they have an amazing deal ($10 off for buying The Incredibles with Cars, 40% off for buying 2 movies, and the 2 DMR coupons). After all the discounts/coupons its $14.98 + tax for both combo packs and two Cars 2 movie tickets. Deal ends today.
Anyway I debated upgrading my Cars DVD (I have the Blockbuster Tin Case edition), but its worth it even without the deal. Checked it out this morning and the picture and sound quality are really good.

I have the original cars Blu Ray, but it didn't come with the DVD the coupon and the Cars II movie ticket made this an instant upgrade so I paid 24.85 for both movies (this and the Incredibles) and two movie tickets.

Just Do It!
I never owned the original Cars Blu-ray. Are there any differences between the two besides the DVD and movie ticket?

The blu-ray has all of that. Actually, the Cine-explore is quite interactive on the BD.
And looking at the back of the case in a store, I find no differences between the two BDs.
Noticed in the latest Canadian Toys R Us flyer, the Cars Blu-Ray/DVD combo is on sale for $19.99 (down from $29.99). The ad is in amongst all the Cars 2 merchandise.
Okay... I might have too much time on my hands...but here it goes
My dad and I were Watching Cars on blu ray and I had to get up to use the restroom and when I paused the movie it's a few frames after this image
When they are doing the replay to see who won and they show Lightning McQueen having his tongue sticking which results in a 3 way tie...the tongue coming out of his mouth if you pause it.....on a big tv....looks almost like something that rhymes with Regis

Although the Australian version has a slightly different cover. I can't tell if Australia got the revised covers or earlier ones.
Victurtle, did you pick up a Blu-Ray/DVD combo, and if so where from? I've only ever seen Blu-Ray or DVD standalone here so far, but maybe I haven't been looking in the right places.
