Winnie the Pooh is looking great! Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to convince anyone to go with me for this one, except maybe my niece and nephews.
But the animation looks wonderful and Zooey Deschanel is love.

Pooh wouldn't keep a diary unless it was fake with a storage space under the cover for honey. lol

I thought that part with the paragraph and Pooh's reaction is very 'classic Pooh', in that it captures the spirit of the original featurettes. I'm just not too fond of John Cleese as the narrator.

The people in the Hundred Acre Woods will be a little less ashamed of their English roots. :)

I'm not saying John Cleese's voice is bad or anything. It's just hard to hear his voice without thinking he's going to go all Basil Fawlty on us. Not that he can't do soft characters, but you get the idea.

I wonder what Christopher Robin's bizzy doing

Also I love Tigger slamming the window on Rabbit! :pink:
As well as Pooh's smile when Tigger's at his nose. :)

Wow. I must say, Eric Goldberg's Rabbit animation appears to be rather feisty throughout the rest of the film!

I don't speak German, so I'm wondering why is it just "Winnie Puuh" and not "Winnie die Puuh"?

Rabbit acts like a kid that drank expresso.

I don't feel the new Pooh will be affected from having a story and music we've seen before, the original film was released as shorts separately to let America fall in love with Pooh, then released as a whole, and America still loved him, all over again. After All the DTVs, the new generation has met Pooh, and now he's being released as whole again for them to love that much more.

Pooh has that wonderful charm that does those things :)

Tonight, I decided to watch The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh again and I must say, that ending, where Pooh and Christopher Robin have to say goodbye always gives me goosebumps. So, imagine how much more impact that segment would have had -and how much more impact this new movie would have had- if there had not been a hundred sequels to it. I feel it's very similar to the 'goodbye'-sequence at the end of Lilo & Stitch, where we take one final peek in their lives before leaving them --how that was essentially ruined because we were overloaded with sequels and tv-shows. It's always better to let the characters rest, so they remain special to us --and not become so overused that everybody is tired of them.

Not for me, I am proud to say I've never seen anything other than the original. :D But yes, I understand what you're saying- part of the reason I'm a bit anxious for how the next Pirates of the Caribbean is because the last one ended so perfectly, and I don't want them to ruin the characters.
