Yeah both here and over at blu-ray people are wondering what's up with this new system. I could very well see them only having the blu-ray for Fox and the Hound, and then a DVD each for both the original and the sequel.
And as for the BatB flyer... the way the "Also Available on Blu-ray Combo Pack" is so far over, it looks as if it's saying that The Enchanted Christmas is Also Available, but that BMW is being left in the dust.
Regardless, I'll be buying these and then finding a way to just put them in the case with Beauty and the Beast so as to not offend those looking at my shelf of blu-rays.

I don't really see the benefit of these films being in Blu-Ray/HD--my guess is BMW would only look more horrendous--but I would still like to have The Enchanted Christmas on DVD or Blu-Ray.
And it's good to see lighthousemike posting again.
I worry that so many members won't post again.

i guess time will tell on that one.
I just watched this blu-ray
the movie looked and sounded AMAZING!!!
The extra features were very dissapointing. Making of with Mandy and Zack was flat, boring and uninformative at all. It was mostly a celebration of Disney's 50th feature film, but even that wasn;t an in depth special. The whole thing was done as a music video and not like what we've been geeting on most Disney's releases, a propor documantry of sorts. was short and pointless with a few interesting items.
The teasers were cute, were they ever on tv? i wouldn't know as i never watch ads on tv i dvr everything i watch and skip through them....lol
The deleted scenes, were interesting, all sketches. but i enjoyed them.
the most importent thing is the actual movie which rocked on BD i just wish we'd had more special features to along with it.

Agreed. I actually think The Enchanted Christmas is terrible.... and that's understating it even.Semaj wrote:Yeah, this sequel mindset isn't going to go away if they keep re-releasing these things.
And it's an insult to longtime Disney fans to combine The Fox and the Hound with its crappy ass cheapquel. I refuse to buy it on Blu-ray if I'm forced to own a copy of that mess.

I'm with the crowd that doesn't mind the sequels being released with the original films, as long as they take on a sort of special feature quality. I hate that it looks as if TFatH2 is going to be given as much attention as the original on this upcoming Bluray release. I feel like it should be a release of the original with maybe a sticker on the package that mentions that the sequel is added on as a bonus or something.
As for the BatB sequels, I don't really understand why anyone would really want either of these on blu. I mean, DVD already glaringly points out how flawed each film is. This is especially true with BMW, which thankfully looks as if it isn't getting blu treatment whereas EC is.

Re: Beauty and The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas BD Coming!
By "combo pack" do you mean that The Enchanted Christmas and Belle's Magical World will be packaged together in the same? Typically, a "combo pack" is a release with a Blu-ray/DVD copy (which applies to ALL recent releases), so I think this is why the previous posters were confused at your explanation.lighthousemike wrote:and yes it's gonna be a combo pack blu-ray ala Fantasia and TFATH which are coming this September (no preview yet on this Tangled Blu-Ray sadly).
The BATB BD coming "this holiday season"
Your referencing of Fantasia and The Fox and the Hound points in the direction that the 2 sequels will be packaged together.

Yes that was my understanding - which is based on reading the insert alone.MJW wrote:By "combo pack" do you mean that The Enchanted Christmas and Belle's Magical World will be packaged together in the same? I now see that other people take from the insert that only one of the two will be on BD.
so we really don't know for sure. We'll have to wait and see. I guess the order sheets that will be sent to stores soon will shed some light on this.

well i would agree with all the other ones. but i do love TEC i love all the songs and the story is cute. sure the animation is well below the original but i still watch it every year. i am a softy for holiday movies thoughyamiiguy wrote:I'd really rather the budget for these titles would just be put towards worthy movies like Song of the South.

Cinderella 3 twist in time is another movie i won't mind getting on BD.
And i think a hint of what's to come regarding the Blu-ray combo packs is the fact Bambi 2 will be on BD, i think it'll be the first one. so i do still think both FATH and BATB will be on the same BD disc.
I am very interested to find out - though don't care anout any of them. But if well get a 2nd BD film for the price of one you won't hear me complain.
I'm hoping that Belle's Magical World is released on DVD in the UK like Enchanted Christmas was last year just so I could have both sequels. I have no intention of getting either if and when they come to Blu-Ray over here. In fact off the top of my head the only DTV Animated Sequels I would re-buy on Blu-Ray would be The Little Mermaid sequels, Cinderella: A Twist in Time, The Lion King sequels and possibly (I guess it would depend on special features) Mulan 2 and the Aladdin sequels, then again all these sequels may never make it on Blu-Ray I guess I shall just have to wait and see

If these are both coming to Blu-ray, and are not packaged together, I could only see myself going for The Enchanted Christmas, and that's just a maybe. I've seen it only once, and I don't think I was that impressed.
If more sequels are coming our way (is there any doubt?), I'd probably like to own The Lion King II: Simba's Pride on Blu-ray, but other than that, there isn't much else I am interested in, sequel-wise.
