Now THIS is the best of any of the covers. Well, this and the very first DVD cover. But anyway, we should be getting this cover for all countries' releases of the Blu-ray...

It's ironic, isn't it? How is this ironic, you ask? Example: you've ever taken a look at the "All Dogs go to Heaven" Blu-ray art cover (though this is going off-topic)? I can't help but feel that they look similar to "101 Dalmatians", "The Jungle Book" and "Peter Pan" Platinum Editions. And other Don Bluth family films would deserve Disney-ish covers.enigmawing wrote: I do believe they're following in the grand footsteps of Disney.
Now, Don Bluth worked for Disney and then left the Disney studio in the 80's. His films used a style that Disney would use back then. Nowadays, MGM/Fox would give art covers similar to what Disney would make for their titles. I believe this is an example of CHEAP DISNEY KNOCK-OFFS THAT WOULD MAKE KIDS THINK THAT THESE ARE DISNEY FILMS. Had Don Bluth never left the studio, I wouldn't be discussing this interesting fact. It's purely ironic.
Anastasia in Blu-Ray 23 Jan 2011 (memory of December)
The amazing animated film that takes them all
The human figures, exciting music, perfect animation, Paris and Russia so bright ....
I find Blue Ray clouds of affliction most impressive film (and not of Disney that hallucinatory)
(Only packaging design pisses me off, they do not look so they look more human in the film and not on the cover)
Now all this Shirrt Oscar takes only can be, how special and luxurious
I forget that twice the animated film with characters moving in a completely terminal

All Sing with me now....
Dancing bears, painted wings,
Things I almost remember
And a song someone sings,
Once upon a December
Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory
(Instrumental Interlude)
Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory
Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember
Things my heart used to know
Things it yearns to remember
And a song
Someone sings
Once upon a December
The human figures, exciting music, perfect animation, Paris and Russia so bright ....

I like this cover, the characters look almost not rotoscoped.Refael wrote:
"From the Directors of Thumbelina" might not be the best promotional tagline ever, I mean, does the general audience even remembers Thumbelina?
Also, how is this Disney related news? Sure Don Bluth is a former Disney animator, and "Anastasia" pretty much followed the 90s Disney formula, but other than that?

a) This belongs to the General DVD Discussion part of the forum.
b) There is already a thread there about Anastasia on Blu-ray

Agreed, nothing can top this:AladdinFan wrote:Why are all Don Bluth's movies are getting awful U.S. Blu-ray covers? Couldn't these movies get the theatrical poster or at least a classy cover.

As for the movie itself, it has its issues (like all Don Bluth movies seem to have). For instance, some of the songs don't gel at all with David Newman's score. Also, some of the animation is too heavily rotoscoped/copied off of the real-life actors performing it. It doesn't flow right. Despite all that, it's still a very good movie.
EDIT: the picture should be working now.

Never again will I complain over a Disney cover, because this... this is rock bottom. Looks like a bunch of second graders made that 'artwork'. Can't believe one of the largest home entertainment companies in the world can put out such shoddy covers. Goes to show how much they actually care, the line: "From The Producers Of Thumbelina" (all capital letters, of course) isn't very reassuring either. Way to sell your crap. I'm sure that one person in the world who liked Thumbelina will be glad that line is on there.
I know it's just a cover and blah, blah, blah. But there is no excuse for this travesty.

^dont overestimate the artistic talents of second-graders. this is still better than the Lion King's cover.
anyway, since TC joined only a couple months ago, this is an understandable mistake.
