I was just looking at the comparison screenshots between the DVDs and the Blu. They look very, very close.
Its VERY close. I noticed a lack of grain on the Blu-ray. I'm starting to question the upgrade to Blu-ray after seeing these. This is not a title I watch a lot, and the picture quality looks similar based on those screen shots. I don't know.

^Don't forget the BD resolution is 5 times greater than DVD. So although the colours may be similar, the picture is still far superior than on the DVD.

As long as they make a new restauration of TLM (which I'm sure they will) I'm actually fine with that. Why should they start from the beginning, if the results wouldn't differ from what we have now on BD?

Less than a week to go for this release! :) Over at Blu-ray.com they've been posting next week's sale prices, and it looks like both Best Buy and Target are offering Bambi for $22.99, however, they are saying that Target is offering an "exclusive bonus disc." I wonder what that is? Either way, the price to beat with coupon is $12.99.

If anyone knows what Toys R Us is offering the title for next week, let us know! It's listed for $29.99 on their site, but they've been pretty good with lowering the price by release day (at least in the store). However, they couldn't match $19.99 @ Best Buy last time for Alice in Wonderland, so who knows? :?

Target's website has two options for buying the blu-ray, with or without the bonus disc. It looks like a game cd, similar to the ones they offered with the Toy Story movies.

I typed in the code for the $10 off on DMR. I got the message:

Thank you for upgrading your copy of Bambi. Click on the banner below for your coupon.

but there is no banner. Anybody have this issue? I"m not sure what to do.

The upgrade coupon that you had to enter the code on is gone. They have now released a "regular" coupon for $10 off. Here is the new link: Bambi Coupon. This coupon expires March 8, 2011.

Hope that helps. :)

No. You can only use the Disney Coupons at B&M stores.

The price has been lowered to $22.99 on Amazon.com as well.
With the $10 off it's a sweet $12.99!

I plan on getting it at TRU regardless of the price. I have a $15 gift card that I got for free when I bought Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and planning to use the $10 MFR Coupon with it. I'll post the TRU price on Tuesday when I get out of school.

Not looking back over 20 pages, but do we have a comparison of bonus features between the original Platinum, the Diamond Blu-Ray, and the Diamond 2-Disc DVD?

Ugh, all the Blu-only features make me sad. But I wasn't planning on buying this new release anyway, I was just curious about what's being ported over, what's being produced new for this release, etc. But at least the DVD version still looks to be fairly substantial.

Just checked the Second Screen option through the preview available on this website http://disneysecondscreen.go.com/bambi/index.php#video
(while I wait for Amazon to send a Bambi copy my way!)
ans I must say that from what I saw this feature is 100 times better than anything I saw offered through BD-Live bar none.

I especially love the flipbooks that let you scroll through clean up drawings of original animation...I used my macbook to check this feature but I would buy an Ipad just to take full advantage of the touchscreen "feel" of this feature.

Disney, I pooh poohed you a lot lately, but this is awesome!!

It appears there may be a differ coupon that you use if you plan to buy it at best buy with a coupon (though maybe it's the same coupon so it might just be Disney's action to addressing the anal tempered employees at some Best Buys :P )

i swear, i can upload a picture of what the flip side of the Blu-Ray disc looks like and everybody on this forum would have an orgasm. smh, just wait until the next format comes out in 5 years and you guys are going to be throwing out these precious Blu-Ray discs you're going so crazy about and wasting your money on whats new. why don't you guys just get the movie if the quality is watchable and has good special features and shut the hell up.
