Ditto. That's easily my favourite, along with "Warthog Rhapsody." I also like the deleted love song that's also on the soundtrack. But, I understand why that was deleted due to the new comedic angle the production took. I still think "Snuff Out the Light" could have fit in somewhere.SillySymphony wrote:I completely forgot this one! *adds to favorite list*Dream Huntress wrote:- "Snuff Out the Light" from The Emperor's New Groove (Kingdom of the Sun version).
I think you can even see part of the scene at 1:36 into the trailer:

Again, can someone provided me where I can see or listen to the cinderella deleted songs? Any links?
I'd also like to hear what's "snuff out the lights" as well.

I've always loved High Adventure.
Danger to danger we go flying
Completely unafraid of dying
Omar, stop crying!

Maybe she and Mother Gothel would've liked hanging out.

I recently burned a Disney mix CD for the car and have been listening to this one a lot lately.Super Aurora wrote:I'd also like to hear what's "snuff out the lights" as well.

Pretty sure that part is in the movie, it's right after Kuzco's funeral where they have the brief little montage of the palace being redecorated with the Yzma motif.estefan wrote:I still think "Snuff Out the Light" could have fit in somewhere. Anyhow, the ones I seem to like most...
1) Beyond the Laughing Sky (Alice in Wonderland) - It fits well enough in "Peter Pan" but I think a more wistful song would have suited Alice's song better.
2) Never Smile at a Crocodile (Peter Pan) - This was on one of those Disney Sing-Along Songs tapes I had as a kid, and I could never figure out why it wasn't used except as underscoring. I always liked it.
3) Snuff Out the Light (The Emperor's New Groove) - I like the orchestrations and that it gives Eartha Kitt something more to do. It obviously couldn't fit into the movie in its current state, but it's a shame she didn't get another song.
4) Someday (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) - It was in the movie, but not really, so I'll still count it. "God Help the Outcasts" served the moment better, but the way "Someday" is integrated into the stage version works very well.
5) Warthog Rhapsody (The Lion King) - I never really liked "Hakuna Matata" all that much. I dunno why. I like this much more. I dunno why.
6) Why Me? (Aladdin) - I'm not sure why I like this better than "Humiliate the Boy" but I do. I agree with the filmmakers that Jafar really doesn't need a whole big song at this point and the "Prince Ali (Reprise)" does the job, but I think "Why Me?" hits the tone nicely between evil and comedy. Also, the lyrics are pretty solid- until I knew otherwise, I always assumed they were Ashman's, which made me respect Tim Rice a little more seeing how well he made them mesh with the existing material.
7) Written in Stone (Mulan) - Stephen Schwartz's other effort for the movie, "China Doll", is kind of underwhelming, but "Written in Stone" serves as a more positive song when Mulan decides to leave. I'm not sure if it's better suited than a more quiet contemplative number like "Reflection" but it's a good song nonetheless.
And just as two other little notes, given how hard they clearly tried to utilize the fairy theme music in "Sleeping Beauty" as a song ("Riddle Diddle", "Sing a Smiling Song") it sucks that they could never do it well / actually include it in the movie. And as stage shows go, I like the melody to the deleted Ursula song "Wasting Away" from "The Little Mermaid" though the lyrics are God-awful and basically pummel one joke into the ground for three minutes. The weird sort of cabaret-y style of it actually reminds me a lot of "Mother Knows Best" and I've been wondering if that was an intentional choice of Menken's to revisit that again or just a coincidence.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"

I wondered if I was the only one that felt that way. Most of the people in the musical thread/s seemed to love that song, but I kind of hated it.SpringHeelJack wrote:And as stage shows go, I like the melody to the deleted Ursula song "Wasting Away" from "The Little Mermaid" though the lyrics are God-awful and basically pummel one joke into the ground for three minutes.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

No, lyric-wise it's abysmal. The joke works as a one-liner in the movie, but if Ursula had followed it up with like a minute of "Look, I'm SO thin now! I'm famished! Skin and bones! Lookame! Starving to death and all skinny like!" it would have, much like the song, unbearable.Disney's Divinity wrote:I wondered if I was the only one that felt that way. Mostly, I just think the melody suits Ursula better than "I Want the Good Times Back" which sounds too similar to "If They Could See Me Now" from "Sweet Charity" for my tastes.

Dancing on a cloud is kinda interesting in my opinion.. i mean if they produced it properly, with good instrumental it could have been big and maybe a bit jazzy
