I regret for not stopping the director from making the Hannah Montana Movie, which destroyed all the good memories I had with the show. It should have statyed on the small screen, which it belonged.

He really is a hypocrite. He stated that he was afraid that people would think he was the reason that Miley got the part, yet he's promoting everything with her. Sure, Billy, that's really smart, if you don't want people to think that it wasn't because of you that Miley got the part. Duh.

Great music? With the exception of Hoedown Throwdown, the music was absolutely TERRIBLE!!

No, that was the only good song. The rest of the songs were purely crap and Miley's voice was raping my ears.

That pretty sums up Hannah Montana The Movie; A retarded movie! The humor was pretty much retarded slapstick humor and besides that, there was no real humor involved. The script lacked any originality, with several plotholes and was so unrealitic that made me cringe. The message was the most hypocritical I've ever seen; The film tries to convey the message of being true to your roots and loving the simple life instead of the city life, but we know what happened in the end.

The fact that people even consider that movie as a feel-good movie makes me geniunly depressed.

Miley Cyrus is just another stupid young performer doing anything she can to shake the perception and image that comes with being associated with Disney. If she needs any deterrent to prove that such a thing is completely self-destructive she simply needs to look at Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.

Its a pity what happened to Lindsay Lohan, though. She was a rare combination of charisma, sincerity and talent.

As another member posted above, Hilary Duff and Raven Symone also had their big hits on the Disney Channel and seemed to weather the storm quite well. Ditto Nickelodeon's Amanda Bynes.

Perhaps their private family lives were more solid and grounded than the Cyrus family. I'm no expert on the situation (I'm reading between the lines) but the family sounds like it was on shaky ground when "Hannah Montana" first took off. The pressures of filming probably finished them all off.

Miley sounds like she's trying to catch up on lost time. The years when regular teens run around like crazy howler-monkeys, getting the "bedbugs" out of their system, Miley was either filming or on tour. It can't have been the most healthy environment for an impressionable teen star adored by millions who wouldn't let her "grow up" in a hurry.

As for Billy Ray blaming the show for his family's split, well then. I can't say. All I know is that a family has to be vulnerable from the outset with situations like these, and Billy Ray loves the spotlight as much as his little girl seems to.

That makes no sense *at all*. Nine year olds don't design clothing. Nine year olds can't do anything without approval of their parents. Saying Billy Ray Cyrus knew nothing about it or couldn't stop her, is a very dumb thing to say. I can't believe anyone would be so naive --not even you.

I don't think we can blame Disney Channel shows for things like this...it's not like every Disney star's family falls apart. I mean, sure, if the Cyruses were a "normal" family and Miley wasn't catapulted into fame, then maybe many of their problems wouldn't have happened, but you can't blame Disney...it's not like Disney told Miley to do all of these scandalous things, or like Disney forced Billy Ray and Tish apart. It was a part of it, but Disney itself can't be to blame.

Yeah, a commenter on the article in the link said "Disney ruins lives. They are satanists" got a pretty decent reply back from me which neglected other current Disney stars.

Granted, I've never really even watched the show or much of the movie, but the few times I did watch with my young niece was enough to get an idea of how cringe-worthy the whole franchise is.

Anyway, regarding the issue with Billy Ray and his family, he has no one to blame but himself for pushing Miley into the spotlight, not the studio. She was under 18 when she first started the show, so whatever they did, they needed his consent.

Umm.... no. That is NOT what I meant. My point is, at least Miley got to HAVE some of a childhood, up till she was about fourteen, when Hannah Montana began. But Michael...., well since he was in the spotlight since he was five, and was forced into show business at an early age.... you know what? Forget it.

There's really no way Miley would REALLY go the way of MJ. T_T
