Yeah, I know I've already posted this twice already, but I thought this would be a good place to post it, too:

Tron & Tron: Legacy Blu-ray Announcement
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced TRON: Legacy and the original 1982 movie Tron for Blu-ray release on April 5. Legacy will be presented in several configurations: a 2-Disc BD/DVD Combo Pack; a 4-Disc BD 3D/BD 2D/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack; a 5-Disc 2-Movie Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray 2D + DVD + Digital Copy of TRON: Legacy + Blu-ray of TRON: The Original Classic Special Edition) and a Limited Edition Ultimate TRON Experience in collectible Identity Disc packaging.

Special features include:

TRON: Legacy
Visualizing TRON
Installing the Cast
First Look at TRON: Uprising – the Disney XD animated series
The Next Day: Flynn Lives Revealed (BD-exclusive)
Disney Second Screen (BD-exclusive): this feature transforms the movie watching experience by allowing viewers to explore the story behind the film perfectly synched on a second device, like an iPad or laptop, without interrupting their enjoyment of the movie. By simply accessing the Disney Second Screen companion application on their Internet-connected device, consumers are able to dive deeper into the film by engaging with elements including 360-degree vehicle turnarounds, interactive progression reels, and more. Disney Second Screen directions and access codes can be found inside the Blu-ray Disc packaging. Audio synching is powered by TVPLUS.

Tron Blu-Ray and DVD release

Post by Mouseketodd »

I plan to buy the individual Blu-Ray/DVD packages of Tron and Tron: Legacy. I'm not satisfied with having only a BR of the original Tron, as offered by the 5-disk package.

I would like to have these separately but I only like the cover of the 2 movie pack. There's no way I'm getting that big crazy fan edition even though I'm a pretty big fan.. It'll really come down to price for these - I'd like to own them individually.

Me two...
I'd like to have both in their own case... so I could order Tron + Tron Legacy (BD+DVD) on Amazon and have $8 off. But the Legacy 4-Disc edition will come with a 3D slip, and I LOVE them. Now, do you think the 5-Disc will also come with a 3D slip? Or not?

I would love to have that big whopping 5 disc collector version that comes with the light up Identity Disc. Its currently $68 at amazon. Will it be cheaper at b&m stores when it comes out?

The European Tron-releases are different from the American, so I'll have to wait and see...

Will probably ending up buying at least two different releases because of the different artwork^^

I still don't have a Blu-ray player, so I am getting the 5-disc Tron 2-movie collection (with identity disc) and the 2-disc Tron: Original Classic dvd.

I've read this in several reviews...

High-Definition Movie Download Electronic Sell-Thru

What does this mean ? Does it mean that these extras aren't on the discs and you have to download them like the one documentary on the T2 blu-ray ?
Think about this. Once bread becomes toast, you can't make it back into bread.

Unboxing of 5-disc Legacy/Original classic pack in regular Blu-ray packaging

Limited edition Identity disc packaging:

I'm bummed about Identity Disc packaging. Very cheap-looking and I hate that the discs are loose. Had same problem with Walt Disney Legacy Collection DVD's. Still love the look of the identity disc though. I'm on the fence right now lol.

Identity disc looks like the Target exclusive Buzz package for Toy Story 3,
I'll pass and either go for the 3D TRON: Legacy and TRON Blus, or the Combo with both, I won't be able to get it for a few weeks after splurging on the Scream trilogy blus, so i'll be spending that time deciding :P

I am sooo on the fence. I had pre-ordered the Identity Disc version with coupon from Amazon, and just now pre-ordered the standard 5-disc edition. No coupon though, so I just canceled it gaah. Why can't Disney just make a nice limited edition box set??? Same problem with Toy Story Trilogy box set, very cheapy packaging.

No. At least, if there is, no one knows about it and no one is mentioning it. I'm sort of surprised. I was hoping at the LEAST they would do a DVD2Blu thing again for it.

Are there any coupons out there for the non-3D Blu-Ray set?
