Question about DMC
when you send in the vouchers for the 1.99 movies, do you have to sign up online? I ask this, cuz it's been over a week since I sent the vouchers and didnt sign up on the website. It doesnt recognize my DMR ID either.

I just have these general questions I wanted to ask here if it was ok...is it ok if I hijack your thread, ajmrowland?
Okay, my first question is can you join the club for a little bit, get some things you want, and then leave the club?
Next is, how do you find out what things are coming up exclusive to the club that you might want?
Finally, here are three things I heard about that I want to know more about:
Was there a Cinderella III DMC 3-d lenticular card and hologram stickers?
Was there a Sword in the Stone exclusive packaging? Is it still available?
Was there a Sleeping Beauty exclusive packaging? Is it still available?
Okay, I gotta ask, does anyone know if there were any Cinderella exclusives all the way back when its Platinum came out in 2005?
If you don't know, do you at least know where I could find these answers?

I can answer a few of these question..
1. you can quit anytime after you buy the required amount of DVDs.
2. they will notify you of the exclusives as they become available to members..

Wow, thanks so much!
Just two more questions:
1. What do you mean "required amount of DVDs", do you mean you have to buy a certain amount of movies before you get exclusives, or a certain amount of movies before you can quit?
2. Anyone know where I can find pictures of the Cinderella III lenticular card and stickers or the Sleeping Beauty packaging, or places that might re-sell them?

A couple more questions:
1. Are the DMC DVD and Blu-Ray clubs separate?
For example, if you sign up through the BR DMC site, does that mean you only buy BR titles from that point on? There are several exclusive DVDs I want, and I don't want to miss out on them. But the BR sign-up package is a better value.
2. For the mail offer, it appears to allow you to pick both DVD and BR titles for the 5 freebies plus two bonuses. I did notice it says you have to select either BR or DVD as your preference; however, it also says you can pick any titles listed on the "$1.99 Movie Selection Catalog."
I did notice an offer one of the first times I considered signing up online that allowed me to pick both DVD and BR titles for the 1st 5 deal. But I didn't complete the registration. A few days later, I tried to register with the same deal and that offer was nowhere to be found.

Yeah I've been wondering that too regarding African Cats. The newer releases are becoming available more quickly (due to mostly pre-orders) Although Dumbo isn't available either right now through DMC. So I think it's a toss up sometimes....gardener14 wrote:I have a question about DMC.
I'm holding off placing an order because I'd like to include DisneyNature's African Cats. The problem is that I can't find African Cats on the DMC site. How long does it typically take for them to add a new release? Should I keep waiting to place my order?
Also you can call the DMC, just have your membership number ready and all....this is the number and the time-frame of when they are open via telephone

I never noticed before that new releases were so delayed beyond the street date by DMC. How long does it typically take...days, weeks, months? Do they add titles to the website at any random time (ie. should I keep checking), or does it only coincide with a new mailer/offer being issued (ie. am I wasting my time checking until the next mailer comes)?

Sometimes the new releases are added quicker than other times. It does seem like DMC is getting better about adding newer titles than they used to be. Sometimes they even have them before their street date. I know that they had The Fox and the Hound available in June when it wasn't out in stores until August. They also had Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides up on their site and available for the feature title from September 27 until October 17. So I think it's really just randomly up to them.gardener14 wrote:I never noticed before that new releases were so delayed beyond the street date by DMC. As far as I know, they do not add titles to the website randomly. They typically only add anything when there's a new cycle (normally once a month) and a mailer gets sent out with the new feature title offer. The new one for this month is Cars 2. It just started on Tuesday (October 18th) and runs until November 14th. Anything new will be added on November 15th (when the new mailer comes out). So I wouldn't check the website until then, probably. According to AliceinWonderland, the next feature title will be Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh. Those will be available then on that date.
Hope this helps (if it makes any sense at all).

It didn't look like your question was answered, so here goes: If you sign up for the Blu-ray Club, my understanding is you have to buy Blu-rays to fulfill your commitment. However, you still have access to their full line of DVD's, including the DVD Exclusives. I know this becuase this is what I did.Voiceroy wrote:A couple more questions:

One thing about the DMC is that offers come and go. So, just becuase you have one offer doesn't mean it will be there later. Hope that helps.Voiceroy wrote: 2.
