Old news. I saw Alice in Wonderland like that already. awesome acid trip. I recommend taking some cocaine and pot then half way through movie take heroin.

Note to self: for now on if there's a coupon for it, I should buy all of my Disney movies at Target

This is the second time that Best Buy has refused my coupon due to it already being on sale (same thing happened when I got Fantasia, but that time I sucked it up, since I had a gift card anyway) and this is the second time it worked just fine at Target (got Beauty and the Beast just fine there).

Unless there's a special offer at Best Buy for Bambi and Tangled, I think I'll be buying them at Target when they come out.

Yeah, I got mine at Target for $12.99 smooth sailing. I could have attempted to get it at Best Buy for $9.99 but it was worth the $3 to not have to deal with an hassle, plus I saved gas cause Target is a lot closer to where I live.

I don't remember that in Disney's movie, only Spirited Away. Was that only in the Alice books?
I have not read the books, but I saw the Tim Burton adaption. I think the maturation into an adult more "Through the Looking Glass" than the first one. So maybe not the Disney version but for sure the second book of Alice.

Not really the hard-working part. I read both books, so I know.

Best Buy

Post by monorail91 »

Sounds like other people have had trouble using the Manufacturer's Coupon at Best Buy; for any other Bay Area people, the Best Buy in Emeryville is accepting the coupon! (Just used it tonight! Took a 30-minute bus ride to get there lol, but it was worth it for the savings!)

My Best Buy took my coupon no problem. I actually expected trouble because the printer double-printed part of the barcode, but even that didn't do anything.

Probably just varies at stores, like the one in my area, then.

Yeah, I went to the customer service counter out of habit, because I usually price match and use other discounts in addition to the upgrade coupon but when I got there, she told me that I could go to any of the registers if it's just one of those coupons. My Best Buy is well aware of these coupons and has never given me trouble.

Ugh...I have to say how much a detest the damn pop up "recommended viewing" thing during the final credits of this and Beauty and the Beast. It is no less annoying than a damn pop up ad on some damn website. Why are they doing this? We've already bought the damn blu-ray. If I want to watch the bonus features I'll go to the damn bonus features section, but when I want to watch the movie I JUST want to watch the damn movie and for me that includes the damn closing credits!!!

Nah, stay on there. I'm on the same soap box. I mean, do they seriously need to advertise the bonus features? If I'm interested in watching them, I will watch them (with or without the annoying pop-up).

Speaking of which, I watched the commentary/documentary bonus feature and it's a great over-view on the history of Alice in Wonderland. Probably one of those rare bonus features, where I can say I actually learned something.

After searching 4 different stores (Target, Wal-Mart, Sam's and Hastings) I finally found it, and had to pay $27. Noone had it in stock for some reason, and it wasn't that it was sold out, this always happens to me  But it was all worth it :pink: I've had the VHS Gold Collection, older 2-disc, the new DVD and now gots me the blu-ray

I just finished watching Alice and I have to say that the restoration is absoultely wonderful. It's so vibrant (and the backgrounds are really clear as well) and I definitely like what I just saw. I haven't watched Through the Keyhole and I probably won't be able to until next month for spring break since my BD player isn't working on my computer. But all in all, it has an awesome picture/sound quality and I'm sure the new(er) bonuses are equally pleasing as well.

According to Blu-ray.com, Alice in Wonderland was the #2 best selling Blu-ray title last week (1/31 - 2/6): http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=5861

It's good to see these classic films are still holding up in sales! Let's hope Disney keeps ushering more and more DAC films onto Blu-ray. I'm excited to see what non-Diamond titles are announced in the future. :)

Oh, and Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 came in at #3 in terms of sales, if anyone is wondering.

I wonder what may Red worth buying so much?

And the fact that BHC2 was number 3 kinda undermines Alice's significance.

I personally think that it's because it's a new release, whereas Alice in Wonderland has been out dozens of times on various formats. Either way, yay for Alice in Wonderland getting to Number 1 and beating Beverley Hills Chihuahua 2.
