Just got back from the theater from seeing it again. Cool movie, but I'm still ticked Daft Punk got snubbed from an Oscar nomination for their score.

I also kind of peeved by the snub for best score and best visual effects..

But I'm surprised this is coming so quickly! Very excited. The original Tron is dropping on blu ray with it, correct? I've been searching the stores around here for over a year and none have had the last DVD release.

I am thinking that this post is for the ORIGINAL "TRON" and not the current "TRON Lagacy". It is still going strong at the box office and in IMAX theaters, I don't see it coming that soon.

I really think that this date is for "TRON", the original movie. Could be wrong, but the title of this thread says only "TRON", not "TRON Legacy".

Blu-ray.com has both TRON and TRON: Legacy listed for the same release date, 4/5/11. So, unless that is incorrect or is changed, I think both films are being released on the same day!

the 4-5-11 is for BOTH tron and tron legacy to answere some of your questions. i work for trans world entertainment ( FYE - SUNCOAST ) and we are taking reservations for them both. the big package deal is a 5 DISC SET ( dvd + blu-ray + 3d blu ray + original tron + digital copy ) what an awesome deal.

I can see it coming out that soon (referring to Legacy). It's fading faster than expected at the US box office and most of its IMAX screens have been lost to The Green Hornet. In 2009, the $200+ million grossing Sherlock Holmes debuted Christmas day and was on Blu-ray by March 30th, so Legacy arriving April 5th is totally believable. I just hope it's not another situation where Disney hints at one date, then announces the official date coming 2-3 weeks later.

Either way, I'm excited to grab both the original TRON and TRON Legacy on Blu-ray! :D

Saw it at the cinema again today, it's an amazing film! Will buy the Blu-ray, already got the CD-soundtrack. Should have been Oscar-nominated for visual effects and Daft Punk's score! I do hope Disney will make sequels to TRON: Legacy...

A teaser for Tron 3 will be on the DVD/Bluray so they are most likely making another one.

The only cover I like is the two movie collection... The others are kind of ugly.

I was just gonna ask if anyone has seen the cover art online anywhere.

Oh boy, not sure which one to get. I'd love to get the Identity Disc packaging. One thing is for sure, reyquila is buying them all!

Definitely will be picking up both movies.

*Edited*

The Identity Disc packaging is cool, but if there is a 3rd movie coming out...

The Identity Disc Packaging looks pretty sweet.... Depending on how much money that will set me back, I'm torn between the discs or the regular 2-Movie Collection package.

Is the original Tron that's included a DVD or Blu-ray?

The 2-Movie Collection would be ideal, but since I don't have a 3D TV/Player, I guess I'll just have to stick with buying the Blu-ray/DVD combos of the films. I'll definitely be getting TRON: Legacy, but I'll have to check out the original first to see if I like it enough to even want to own it.

I'd imagine it's Blu-ray.

And yeah, that's a lot of crappy cover art.
