Character Lockdown?!?

Post by Big Disney Fan »

Look at this: http://www.mouseplanet.com/9510/Collared.

It looks like PhotoPass is the despotic ruler of the character department (or lack thereof)! And it's going to rob the park of "walkaround" characters. Now they will do nothing more than just pose for pictures!

I can't say I'm too surprised by this, walkaround characters have been decreasing in numbers year on year for a while now, not to mention the number of characters in the parks in general.
We're not going to Guam, are we?

They might as well just throw the characters out of the park altogether.

If this is true, then its appalling, as the character are at the heart of all the Disneylands.

But Disney have denied the statement though ? So is it true at all ?

Recently, I sent an email to Disneyland. I didn't care what response I got from them, I just wanted to reach out to them and express my concern.

Before I sent the email, I copied my letter over onto Microsoft Word so I can send the letter the old-fashioned way, too.

That's terrible! :( That would be boring, and look all of the memories Disney has caused! If you just snap a pic and that's it....it would not as magical.

The number of characters at the parks has really increased I think, certainly a lot more now than it ever was when I was a child. Just coming back from WDW we seen a lot more than we did last May and many were suprises that weren't "scheduled to appear".

Of course you do have to wait in line to meet them and get your picture taken but some kids talk to them and others don't. The photopass people don't push you along you get your time with them, I think the way it is currently is nice.
