Yeah, I wrote that (hyperbolic, as usual) because, as far as we know now, the earliest and oldest scriptures which ended up becoming part of the Old Testament, those which deal with the creation of the earth, man, and the history of the jewish people, were written by nomads who had no scientific understanding of the world. They knew nothing about the heritage of their people and that's why they decided to make one up. But somehow, the 'origins tales' of all other ancient religions (the Greeks, Romans etc.) we have cast aside as 'myths', while the Biblical stories are no different in tone and substance (only difference is a monotheïstic God). Oh, the other things you wrote after that are stories from the Bible, not historical facts. We have no sources outside of the Bible to support the idea that there existed a (large) jewish community in Egypt during the reign of pharao Ramses II (during whose reign the Biblical stories supposedly had taken place). So I can't discuss any of that.

I can see what you're aiming at. One guy gets horny over the Disney princesses and the other guy is just delighted to talk to them in real-life. I don't mean this as an insult to Slave2moonlight, by the way; I'm sure he would be the first one to agree.
Disney Duster wrote:Are you Goliath and Prince Edward really atheists? I thought Goliath was agnostic. Did you change because of me? I'm sure the two of you are smart enough to well know the difference between atheist and agnostic?
Hey, you think I'm smart?

Actually, I just put 'atheist' to avoid questions about the difference between agnistic and atheist.
Super Aurora wrote:Goliath is clearly atheist. He addressed this multiple times. I dunno how you could think otherwise. An agnostic is person who unsure yet if a God exist or not. Atheist flat out believe there is no God.
I like you very much, but please don't speak on my behalf. Disney Duster is right: I identify myself as agnostic. Not because I think the existence of a Higher Being is very likely, but just because *I* can't say with 100% certainty a HB *doesn't* exist. I preach the gospel of 'I don't know'. I don't believe I have ever called myself otherwise on this forum (until now, for reasons explained above). ... Which, as it turns out, has had just the opposite effect.
