I did it. I submitted my POPs, and in about 2 weeks, I got a slew of e-mails, each with a link to an e-coupon for a particular movie. So far, I've used the $8 coupons for Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, National Treasure, and National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets.

Not true. Each movie is an $8 coupon off any price (regular or sale) at any brick & mortar store. For example, I got:

Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure $10 ($18 - $8 at Target a week or two ago)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl $5 ($13 - $8 at Target this week)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest $5 ($13 - $8 at Target this week)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End $5 ($13 - $8 at Target this week)
National Treasure $5 ($13 - $8 at Target this week)
National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets $5 ($13 - $8 at Target this week)

This is what I'm talking about and my biggest thing against any new format. The idea of re-buy the same stuff you already own. I'm so happy everyone has so much free money to always be re-buying stuff over and over and over again.

This is true for any new advance in technology. It was true when LaserDisc was so much better than VHS in both video and in audio. It was true when DVD was better than LD (at least in video quality; audio quality is debatable). And it's now true when BD is better than DVD both in video and in now-lossless audio.

Didn't you upgrade any of your titles from VHS to DVD?

A better program would be to mail in your DVD and get the Blue Ray.

That's true. I'm learning that the hard way. At least this helps take the edge off of the price a bit. $8 is $8 after all.

Doing that on top of the money I get though Movie Stop trade-ins of my older editions I could get a new BD combo for very cheap and in a way make up for not getting them when they first came out. I won't make that mistake again though, I'm jumping on the Princess and the Frog combo and the Toy Story 1 and 2 combos when they come out.

I don't know but that could potentially give you HUGH savings.

Let me use an example. So you deicide to upgrade Toy Story to Blu-ray. The MSRP is $35. You catch it on sale the first week at Toys-R-Us for $19.99 (get it there or price match some where else). You have the $10 off coupon you printed from toystorycoupon.com/ that is only good the first week. You also have the $8 coupon you got from clipping out your DVDs UPC and sending it to disneyupgrade2blu.com/. Your total is $2.

I guess it all depends on where your buying it from and their policy on multiple discounts.

I know Target has a one manufacturer's coupon and one store coupon per purchase policy and Best Buy has one as well but to my knowledge Toys R Us does not. If anyone here can confirm that it would be great.

Personally, if they don't except multiple coupons then I would just use the toystorycoupon.com/ one (or equivalent if your purchasing another movie) and save cutting up your original DVD case. That way you get the $10 discount instead of $8 and you get to keep your old DVD in good condition This way you just sell you old DVD on eBay and probably at least make the $8 back yourself (you don't need it, since the Blu-ray comes with a DVD).

You will be sent an e-mail for each movie you upgrade, with a link to print out the coupon, so you aren't forced to print all of them out at once.

You do know the program is over, right? It ended on Dec 31, 2010.
