As most people are aware of, there already exists at least one animated version of the Snow Quen. When watching the intro, I looks like they have been a little inspired by Disney's Pinocchio:

Don't make the Snow Queen evil. That would so fucking lame and predictable change. They have to have a bad guy in it, make it the troll/devil thing that cause problem like in the story.

Snow Queen should be elegant and pose. Like in those two awesome concept arts of her's.

cut out some unneeded characters like the Prince and Princess, etc.

Don't make it lame(like that shitty storyboard that was leak)
You have a point. The Snow Queen wasn't the villain in the original story, but something has to motivate her to steal Kay.As for the devil, make him look sexy for marketing purposes. He should look like Bowie from Labyrinth and Lestat from Interview with a Vampire.Disney has not done that before. It would have a cool effect on the audience too.

Tom Cruise as Lestat.

I can't wait until we start seeing stills! :pink:

As for the 3D issue. I wouldn't mind The Snow Queen being in 3D, as 3D could really be an assett here. Most of the Disney films from earlier times might be in 2D, and I wouldn't have them any other way, but change should be embraced. That said, I wouldn't want to see something along the lines of the new Pooh film in 3D :pooh:

So many Disney projects to look foreward to :float:

Did I miss something??

There has been no mention of Snow Queen for months now. Last we knew it had been shelved.

Except for the one anonymous poster on the TAG blog who said, "Snow Queen is in production"... which can't be true because if it was actually "in production" then we would know about it. At the very most it is in development work again.

Wait a minute. If they do do this, will this really be hand-drawn or CGI? I mean, CGI's all right, but it's not the only medium that Disney can do. C'mon, Disney! You know what your fans want! Listen to them! :(

A page back there's an interview with Menken stating it's shelved and a (vague) quote from Nathan Greno saying that TSQ is being "spaced" from the other Princess projects.

So, basically, TSQ is still in development hell.

"There are other fairytales and other princess movies in development at Disney," Nathan Greno says, politely but firmly. "Part of the problem was that the studio had The Princess and the Frog, then us, then Snow Queen. It was princess, princess, princess! It was too much all at once, so they felt it was better to spread them out. Given how Tangled is doing, people clearly like the fairytale idea."

Not to mention how Disney's legacy owes so much to its princesses that toy stores have shelves devoted to them. The widely reported story never made any sense, Howard says.

"I don't see any reason why they'd put the brakes on it. There's obviously a huge audience for princess films. I don't think the world has anything to worry about. There'll be more."

Alan Menken: Right now, I have nothing in the pipeline for Disney.

Q: Nothing at all?

Alan Menken: No. Snow Queen is not happening. That could turn around like that.

Q: I have to ask, is there any hope for "The Snow Queen" at all, do you think?

Glen Keane: Oh, yeah, oh yeah. I believe that there is. I believe that our future has to include great, classic fairytales. "The Snow Queen" is a wonderful story. Its root goes way, way deep, Frighteningly deep. It's interesting. The stories that Walt solved were the more solvable ones. The more difficult ones.

He meant TPATF and Tangled.

Here's the original quote from Rumpelstiltskin's post:

I really hope that "spaced" isn't code for cancelled, although I could understand it being pushed back, given how Frog and Tangled have been released over the past two Christmases.

On another note, the better emotiocons are back! :D Was it due to alot of complaints? The other ones tended not to look right, and it was boring how they were all yellow. I'm glad we have the old ones again :)

I'm just guessing, but based on that, I'll guess it will still happen, just not for a few years. I bet it will be made this decade, probably around the middle of it. Say 2014/ 2015?

Okay, seriously. Is this gonna be hand-drawn or CG? I'd be fine if it was done (even if it's CG), but I'll be even more pleased if they do it in 2D animation.

Haha seriously. How could anyone possibly know that already if we don't even know if it's in production or not?

Chances are that it will be CG, after the success of the first CG fairytale, Tangled.

(Waits for DisneyJedi's rampage)
