As for new releases, January is typically abysmal for movies; but if you're like me and live in a small town, there's generally plenty to see because all of the awards contenders that came out in select cities in November and December open wide now. Of course, they still seldom come to my town, but they come within driving distance. I'm hoping to finally get to see a few of these in January and/or February:
The King's Speech
The Company Men
The Fighter
127 Hours
And possibly these too, though they're much less likely to come to my area:
The Illusionist
Blue Valentine
I Love You Phillip Morris
Somewhere
Rabbit Hole
The King's Speech
The Company Men
The Fighter
127 Hours

Probably will try to see The Green Hornet...other than that not much...maybe go see Yogi Bear the movie for $4. Tomorrow Me, My mom and dad are all going to go see Little Fockers. My family has seen Meet the Fockers and I did too and my dad cracked up so much...I haven't seen Meet the Parents (though I might of seen it but's been a while. But I remember the premise of the second one. I understand what's going on and perhaps will watch Meet The parents and meet the fockers sometimes this week just to catch on jokes that I didn't get...such as puns and sarcasm...
And about Season of the Witch...when I saw the trailer I stupidly thought it was a back story of Balthazar Blake from Sorcerer's Apprentice...go figure Nicholas Cage gets to be in another Medieval times show....

At another site I peruse they have dubbed 2011 as "The Year of Sequels, Remakes, and Comic Book Films", and with what is happening early in the year I might have to agree.
Films I will probably see:
The Green Hornet (comic book)
True Grit (remake)
The Mechanic (remake)
Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (sequel)
The Green Lantern (comic book)
Thor (comic book)
Transformers 3 (sequel)
There are so many movies coming in this year that it will be hard to catch all of them on first release, and may have to catch them in the Second-Run $2 house or wait for the DVD.

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

The Green Hornet is the only film on the list I'll definitely see. As far as converted 3D goes, the footage from the trailer on IMAX 3D looked pretty impressive, but I think I'll stick with good ol' 2D on this one.
The Dilemma has me torn. I love most of the cast involved, but the first trailer was abysmal, with or without the controversial "It's gay" comment. The second trailer made it look somewhat more interesting, but that's not saying much. It's a possible candidate for a $5 Tuesday movie towards the end of the month. I also might give No Strings Attached a chance, depending on how positive the word of mouth will be.
As for the rest of the list - Season of the Witch, The Rite, The Mechanic - it all looks like typical January Junk.
Other movies I'd like to catch up with in January:
127 Hours
Black Swan
Blue Valentine
Country Strong
The King's Speech
True Grit (repeat viewing)
Cheers,
JM
