What do YOU love about Disney?
What I love most about Disney is the animation.
I don't know - I can't really answer this, as I think it's a combination of lots of things.
At first, what probably drew me in as a child was the stories. When I came back to Disney as an adult, it was probably a combination of the songs, the stories and the animations.
As I came to know them better, I definitely developed a love of the characters.
And over the last few years, the heroines have most certainly caught my eye.

Me too. Of course, I'm biased, some of my best friends are former/current castmembers.BellesPrince wrote:I love the castmembers. I have total respect for them and the job they do, and so many of them are just extremely nice people, must be something about working there that rubs off on them.

But Milk Buds and Theme Parks go hand in hand! When walking around a theme park, a guest might be munching on some candy. And what do you think that candy is? Milk Buds! So a vote for Milk Buds is a vote for Theme Parks. Nothing says "Good times in the Magic Kingdom" like some genuine Goodtimes Milk Buds.Wire Hanger wrote:Agreed, but they're not important enough to be on the poll apparently, like Milk Buds.

omg i love disney so much bcoz its disney!
lol, as a fangirl, i feel obliged to list random things that make me love disney so much.
*disney channel. i know, i know, but u old ppl are gerryatticts and dont know what ur talkin about!
like hannah montana says, u get the best of both worlds!
on the one hand they have old stuff like blam and have a laugh! its really great!

*king triton!
i know hes a bit of a jerk 2wards ariel at first, but he is awesome as he has super vegan powers and can shoot lazers from his eyes!

*i love the disney theme parks, mostly the rides that have summat to do with the movies or meeeting the characters! my twin brother joe says that he likes the rides, including the scary action ones like star tours and potc (), but he doesnt wanna stand in the rain 4 an hour to give aurora a bday cake, the stupid big willy guy.
i do like it sumtimes when they get non-disney stuff in the parks tho, so i forgive him.
i hope that they get twilight in the parks, as universal got harry potter!

*anastasia! she is so cool, and its so sad that disney doesnt give her any merchandise, while they give boring hard-working ppl like tiana and mulan loads.
pass me the milk buds, per-leeeeeaze!
i wanna see anastasia as a disney princess, and not as a singer with a funny voice and silly songs!

my favorite movies from disney are:
the little mermaid, sleeping beauty, disney princess enchanted tales, 101 dalmations (puppies!
), high school musical, jonas brothers 3d, the princess diary, anastasia, the swan princes (sure, its not disney, but its like disney enough)
and to be funny, ones i wish wed forget:
pinocchio (badly animated
), fantasia (booooorriiiiiing
), mulan, tpatf, the black cauldron, an american tail, saludos amigos (no hablo espanol, per favore
)

When I voted, I said the animation, songs, and villains. When I go into a Disney movie, the number one things I want are eye-dazzling animation, good songs (if the movie has them), and strong villains (be they terrors or showstoppers).
I like the theme parks, but my love for Disney is mostly tied to the movies. The stories can be weak or redundant at times (these movies almost always seem character-based more than anything), and it's hit or miss whether you like the heroes/heroines, so I didn't vote for those.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"
I love most cartoon shorts, animated movies, only some live-action movies, and a lot of their comics (Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse). However, I loathe the theme parks and the Disney Corporation (quote Keno Don Rosa: "the evil empire").
Edit: changed "very few live-action movies" to "only some live-action movies", because the original phrasing had a negative meaning that I didn't intend.

I love Disney because at its best it represents wholesome entertainment that is imaginitive and innovative while still staying true to time-tested values and recalling the pleasures of old-fashioned storytelling. That is the legacy of Walt Disney and it is what the company he founded should always strive to extend. As long as it does, I will be a fan.
That being said, what I've been fascinated with the most lately are the early shorts and animated films. My introduction to Disney was the early '90s films which hold their weight with me more because of nostagia than appreciation of their execution or technical artistry (although they are good movies and milestones by any measure.) As time has gone on, I've become the most interested in Walt's productions and have only been further stimulated by my recent visit to the Walt Disney Family Museum.

Reading your posts, I wonder why you even bother being here. It just seems that you loathe everything about Disney, and you loathe anyone who likes Disney or anyone who has an opinion which doesn't match yours.Goliath wrote:I love most cartoon shorts, animated movies, very few live-action movies, and a lot of their comics (Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse). Very strange.

That was rather rude. I'm going to defend Goliath here and his mode of thought, as it's not all that far removed from some of my own (though I do like the theme parksBellesPrince wrote:Reading your posts, I wonder why you even bother being here.
