Disney-won Oscars?
Is there a list of oscars that Disney won or nominated for? It think most of the were the animated shorts and the True Life Adventures.

Walt and the Disney Co. hold some records w/ the Oscars. Go to their FAQ page, and you'll see them pop up a few times!

Oscars® are not given to companies. Typically its the producer(s) who gets the Oscar for Best Picture - not the director, who may still come on stage to accept it, but are generally rewarded with the Best Director category.
I guess all the Producers of Finding Nemo were Pixar employees.

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Makes sense. So have all the other Pixar films' producers (the majority for each film, that is) been Disney employees? I'm not sure which ones won Oscars, maybe all of them.

I suppose we now get into the argument about what is a producer. Most producer credits are vanity roles anyway. Executive Producers, Supervising Producers etc. Most jobs aren't worth the screentime they are given in the credits.
The role of a Producer - a real producer, is to raise and manage the money, manage the creative and practical teams, communicate to the media and have final say (should they want it) in script, casting and editing. Most good, career producers do not use their power to affect the creative and artistic vision of the director. Sadly, this is a trend that is disapparing as more and more producers seem to be nothing more than repressed directors who think that they know better.

Thanks. Do you know why the Oscars for Toy Story and Monsters are listed under Disney and Nemo under Pixar, then?
Also, does anyone know if the Oscars had a commemorative video of Walt's life (like they often do when big-name people die) the year that he died? If so, was it televised, and does anyone have a copy?
