According to TVShowsonDVD that CatDog, The Angry Beavers, and Aaahh!!! Real Monsters probably are going to be on regular DVD.
NOTE: It's worth mentioning that we're hearing from industry insiders that traditionally-manufactured DVD releases of this series may be coming to retail as soon as the early part of next year. We don't have anything further to tell you besides that at this time, but if you decide to buy these MOD releases, then at least you'll have made an informed decision!
If this is true than I'm definitely going to buy my favorite Nick shows. Cartoon Network shows are getting this treatment (The PowerPuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, and Courage the Cowardly Dog) why not Nickelodeon shows?
I think Viacom's business plan for the Nickelodeon shows is really similar to Disney, rather than Time-Warner. As in, why release season sets of older programs when a Spongebob DVD with 3 random episodes can probably move 100X as many units? Remove Spongebob - add Hannah Montana - and you have the same deal. Not that I blame them, but the fans get the shorter end of the stick with that plan.
In contrast to that Warner's plan seems to be: release as much as possible as long as they can turn a profit in some form. Hanna-Barbera shows weren't selling that well anymore I think, so they got dumped on their MOD-Archive program (which is a good thing, since many of those shows would never be able to be released on pressed discs). But even Warner -to a lesser extent- has had a habit of abandoning animated shows, for example; Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Ed, Edd 'n Eddy, Billy and Mandy, and more. On top of that I'm afraid those CN Hall of Fame releases didn't fare all that well in sales. Otherwise they would have surely made some sort of follow-up announcement by now.
For sheer curiosity I checked out the prices on Amazon for these shows, pfft... talk about ripping people off. If you want to complete any of these shows through Amazon's MOD program it'll cost you an arm and a leg. Might be a good thing if they start releasing these on pressed discs. With that said, I've never really been a fan of any Nickelodeon show, but regardless of that I hope for the people who do like these shows that Paramount will come through next year. Now's the best time to cash in on nostalgia. Though if you ask me CatDog, Angry Beavers, The Wild Thornberries and Aaahh Real Monsters are really weird choices to start with. Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, Invader Zim or Doug would make more sense.
Good, I'm tired of these cheap-ass Amazon set. The best thing they could do is shut down the new male-oriented Nicktoon's Network and return it to the classic programing from when it first launched (the Nicktoons Rewind concept).
This is great news to me! I remember my sister and I LOVING Angry Beavers. I kinda wish this would've happened for this holiday season bc they'd be the perfect gift for her! None the less I'm really happy to hear they'll be coming to stores soon!

Sadly, I have to agree with every word you said. You really nailed it. I'm sad that these classic toons get shafted like this, and in fact of DVD existed when these shows were new, it would be a different story I bet, but it didn't go down that way. I'm just sorry that many great cartoons get the stick while today's crap fest tv animation gets everything released under the sun practically. I want Animaniacs Vol. 4, dang it!

If they're cheaper then the DVD on Demands, great!
Surprised Disney hasn't picked up on Viacom or WB's model for finishing what they started on all those Disney shows or release Song of the South that way.
