Our review for the set should be up in a week because I intend on making this the most thorough review for the set online. I'll be writing about the different versions and edits of the films, every single feature that's in the Virtual Vault, and exactly what was left off (though jpanimation's beaten me to the punch ). So while I'm sorry the review's so late, I promise it'll be worth it.

I am so mad! We finally got the chance to watch this on blu ray today and the movie will not play!!! This has never happened to me before, the previews and all play (of course) but then it's like the movie never loads the sceen just stays black eternally, Fantasia 2000 works perfecty so I guess I have to go return this now tomorrow I hope they will exchange it

Make sure your player's firmware is up-to-date before you bother with an exchange.
(The BD does seem to have an uncommonly long loading time, from what I've read.)
One of the best reasons to have a Wi-Fi built in Blu-ray player because when you put a disc in that doesn't load right away, it posts a message on the screen that it is downloading a new update for your player and then in a very few minutes it plays whatever disc you are wanting to watch.
It happened three times this past year to me. Most of the time it was from Lionsgate New Releases. But I just assumed that "Fantasia" takes so long to load because it has so much information in the disc.
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

Are you suggesting it doesn't play on normal Blu-Ray players that aren't designed to be connected to the net or subject to software updates?
There's no such thing as a BD player that's not subject to firmware updates, although there are certainly manufacturers who utterly slack on providing such updates. Internet connectivity is only relevant in that it makes updates easier to facilitate than downloading firmware and authoring discs for the purpose.
Lucylover1986 wrote:I had the opposite problem, Fantasia loads great and 2000 took forever.
But it did eventually load? I let it go for about 15 mins and it still didn't come up
Yea, it took a couple minutes for each chapter to load. So much garbage at the beginnings of these discs. Took forever to get to the movie. I have the latest sony wi-fi blu ray player too with all the updates. I have had an instance where I kept ejecting and reinserting a disc till it took it, I'll put it back in another day and see if it reads quicker.
Are guys able to disable the background music found in the art gallery on the Fantasia bluray disc?
Even when I check the sound icon in the gallery dashboard, the music keeps playing...

I'm not sure what the reviewer means by it is encoded but hidden on the disc.
From what I gather, he means you can watch the Virtual Vault features on a BD-ROM by accessing the files directly (like, opening the contents of the disc via Windows Explorer to see all the folders and files) rather than through the traditional menu system.
Virtual Vault is stupid. They should've just put them all under the "Classic DVD Features" banner on disc.

I've bee having the same problem as well. Fantasia 2000 worked fine for me last night, along with the Toy Story 3 and Beauty the Beast Blu's, but I've been letting Fantasia load for 20 minutes, and I still get the black screen. Wonder if I should exchange mine as well, or what.
Try upgrading your firmware first. Just because your blu-ray unit plays one blu ray title has nothing to do with the ability to play another. Upgrade your firmware, if that doesn't work, replace the disc. If that doesn't work, call Disney. If that doesn't work, get a new blu-ray player.
