The UK bonus feature disc has a different problem: french subtitles are selected by default and cannot be removed...contacted WDSHE UK but they don't seem to be as responsive as the US customer service.
If it hadn't been for the fact that the US release of Pinocchio is region locked I would not have bought the UK one....

I contacted them a few months ago and they pretty much told me they weren't going to fix it (they knew exactly what the problem was). Since this title it going into the vault in March, they probably won't fix it.jpanimation wrote:Wow, I'd hate to have forced subtitles but still, I'd love to know if anyone has had any recent success with this disc exchange thing.

The fact that they are practically wasting my time saying they are trying to learn how to help me makes it even more frustrating....
And the fact that it is soon going back into the vault doesn't mean anything...they corrected the shortened Donald Duck short in the Disney Treasure set way past the release date...

Disney UK contacted me and said that although other people have experienced forced French subtitles like I have the disc isn't at fault but it is more likely a player issue....yeah right my 150 Disney DVDs all work like a charm and now my player is to blame...at least they could have said the truth: we don't plan on issuing a replacement
I wondeer if anyone who owns the Pinocchio UK edition (not the first pressing) is NOT having the same forced subtitles problem...
ANYONE?

BUMP!
I've just received a "Pinocchio" Blu-ray from amazon.com and it came without a slipcover. Is this standard practice of amazon to not put slipcovers on the DVDs/Blu-rays after some time has passed from the initial release or is it Disney's? Should I complain to amazon or there's nothing they can do?
I just feel cheated. I spent the same amount of money for the Blu-ray just like everyone else and I didn't get the same product. Also, it's a matter of uniformity. All of my rest Disney Blu-rays have slipcovers and now "Pinocchio" will stand out.

Pinocchio is the only recent Disney release that I've had trouble finding a slipcover for. Granted, I got it about a year after the Blu-ray came out, but it was pretty hard to track down someone who did actually have the slipcover. Even my Disney Movie Club-purchased Pinocchio didn't have one. (Thankfully it was a gift!) I eventually just found someone on eBay with one.

Pretty much any movie that came with a slipcover only has that slip available for a few months, after which point it will just be shipped with the case alone. They've been doing this for a while.Sotiris wrote:I didn't know that. So it's Disney's fault and not Amazon's? After how long then do they stop putting slipcovers on their DVDs/Blu-rays? A month? 6 months? A year? When?

Anyone going to do this? I never even noticed missing dialogue when watching the movie, but I'd heard about it on here.

I called just to see how it works. The cast member was very helpful and explained the whole process.MJW wrote:Pinocchio Blu-ray Exchange Program: http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=6126

To verify that you have the Blu-Ray disc, you tell them the number on the underside of the disc, and then give them your name/address/phone#/e-mail. They'll mail you the stuff you need to mail back your Blu-Ray disc (along with a sticker to avoid paying postage), like the consumer sheet and padded envelope. Then you write your case # on the envelope as well and mail it back. She said the whole process should only take a few weeks.

Thanks for the info. Any word on if they are offering DVD replacements as well, for Disc 1 of the 2-Disc Platinum Edition DVD? That version is also missing the dialogue.
