Looks like all questions about Dr. Syn will have to wait until next year to be answered. I am SO angry with this delay although if it means getting a proper 2 disc SE of it I'll be happy when it finally comes out. This was the catalog title I was most looking forward to in 2004 (from Disney at least). I was very disappointed to see the news here on UD main page.

Filmed in England in early 1963, it was originally conceived, budgeted, and edited for U.S. television as THE SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH. But it was re-edited, and released in British theaters during Christmas of 1963, as DR. SYN, ALIAS THE SCARECROW - before the premiere of the U.S. television version in February, 1964. It was re-edited again for its U.S. theatrical premiere as DR. SYN in 1975 (on a double bill with a re-release of TREASURE ISLAND). And was re-edited yet again for its "Walt Disney Home Video" (VHS & Beta) release as DR. SYN in 1986.

This is a major bummer if true, I was really looking forward to Dr. Syn, especially being that it was being released in August, which was a real in-between time for me in terms of stuff I wanted to get.

I received this statement from AMAZON:

Greetings from Amazon.com.

We have contacted the manufacturer by phone concerning the status of
our order for "Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow (1964)."

The representative that we spoke with indicated that this title has
not been released and there is no projected release date at this time.
Release dates tend to fluctuate, however, so there is a chance that
this will change. If we receive additional information about this, we
will let you know.

I know the feeling. But there's positive action you can take. Go to the News & Links Page of my Disney SCARECROW site, scroll down a little, and click on the link to the Campaign Page. You are not alone (I've got plenty of e-mails to prove it)!
