bytheway may i just say i LOVE the part where Rapunzel realizes she is the lost princess. When they zoom in to her eye and you hear this epic music and you see flashbacks.. that was so awesome

And (spoilers) the part where Mother Gothel has chained her and she is squirming to break free and help Eugene is heartbreaking. I thought: Wow, this is dark for a kids movie! But in a good way though

Do you guys think there'll be a Tangled 2? Maybe about their kid or something? or maybe they could weave a new fairytale in there, but it would still be about their kid.

Eee gads, I hope not. I thought we were done with sequels to fairy tales.

I would love it, because i love the characters Rapunzel and Flynn and i would definitely want to see more of them. If they make it just as great ofcourse.

Like I said, a couple of pages back, not with Lasseter around.

As much as I would love to see more of Rapunzel and Flynn, I'd be insanely weary of any kind of sequel from Disney. Honestly, the only thing I felt was missing from Tangled was a cute little wedding scene. (And only for my own fandom, I don't think the movie honestly needed it. :P) Really I'd like for them to keep it where it is and move on to Snow Queen.

Yeah, no sequels. Although I wouldn't be adverse to a short…

Lord, no.

Makes me glad this film wasn't made by DreamWorks, or else we would never hear the end of this.

To give DreamWorks credit, they don't make sequels to every film they make. I think their ground rule for a sequel to be produced is that the film needs to make $200 million domestically. Shrek, Madagascar, How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda are their only film to get sequels. We won't be seeing sequels to Bee Movie, Megamind, Monsters vs Aliens, Over the Hedge and Shark Tale and their other efforts.

Just an interesting pattern I noticed with DreamWorks. Not the best way to decide to make a sequel, but I think people tend to over-exaggerate DreamWorks' love for sequels. I don't recall many people asking for Monsters Inc 2 and Cars 2. But, I'm sure there are plenty who is curious where they can go with Dragon and Kung Fu Panda.

Tangled bumped back up to #1, this weekend. It's now made over $96 million. Expect it to out-gross The Princess and the Frog very soon. Let's see how it fares next week when Narnia takes its 3D screens (though I'm not seeing a lot of hype surrounding Tawn Dreader).

omg Sotiris that is a crazy find! it looked awful, i am so glad they went in a truer literal final direction!

though i do have to have say that the very beginning of the video is quite beautiful and definitely has more of that rococo, painterly flare then the final film does

The beginning of that Unbraided vid reel was magical, all fairytalelike and secret-garden-ish. but then it turned ew and too modern.
I'm so happy they went with the other idea

Oh wow... I'm so glad they decided not to go with this version! I liked the beginning until they got into the city though.

I wouldn't be able to take this guy seriously, no offense :|

There were some nicer concept art by Lisa Keene for this project which you can see at her site: http://www.lisakeene.com/tangled.html

I'm still worried about the movie recouping its EXTREMELY expensive budget. But that is pretty good news. :)

Bytheway, look at this:

Mandy Moore looks like Rapunzel here, near the end!
