How exciting that Tangled turned out to not just be a great movie, but a huge success as well. :) So happy!

Okay, really. WHY do I get a feeling that despite its good earnings, Disney's screwed with Tangled's $260 million budget?! It says it now on Box Office Mojo, and I guess the budget's official. :(

I know how you feel. I felt kind of empty after seeing it for the first time, too. I'm going to see it tomorrow for the second time, and I'm really looking forward to it, but I know it won't be as magical as it was the first time. It's depressing when you finally get to see a movie you've been excited about for so long, because then you have nothing to look forward to anymore.

Yep, that's true... Ofcourse i'll look forward too seeing it again in cinemas at Christmas.. but still it isn't the same.
Because the time of finding new clips of Tangled online and watching them was the happiest time, i guess.
Well. I can buy it on DVD and watch it as many times as i want!
I'm already re-watching the best parts at that leaked megavideo recording.

About a minute and three seconds into the video, I could have sworn I saw Lottie from The Princess and the Frog dancing behind one of the guys.

Holy crap, that should be an ad by itself! Zachary! Charlotte! General animation craziness! That's so sweet. (And I think one of the girls at the beginning is combing her hair with a fork!)

That just made me smile :) It's awesome that they are celebrating such a huge achievement. Oh and I really want one of those Pascal shirts!

I got The Art of Tangled today, and it's absolutely beautiful. Seeing the art on the computer doesn't compare to seeing it printed. I just wish there was even more art!
Some interesting things in the book...
- "They decided on a simple title, but one with a classic sound, a promise of adventure, and a dash of the mysterious: Tangled." Apparently no one thought that
- Mother Gothel's final design is based primarily on Bryon Howard's design of Mother Gothel.
- The idea of Pascal started with a gag. Rapunzel was painting a lizard that came into her tower, but she had to mix new colors constantly because it kept changing colors, making her frustrated at the lizard.
- Originally Pascal was not going to be green, because they thought it was too obvious. He was once blue for a while, then purple.
- A grandmother who originally owned the Snuggly Duckling planted a tree next to it, causing it to merge with the pub. Her grandson now runs the pub, and there's a shrine for the grandmother in it.

One thing I never noticed until looking through the book is that Rapunzel writes on her walls. Some things she wrote were...
- I want to fly with the birds and learn the songs they sing.
- The birds make nice beds out of leaves--what would happen if I were to go down and get all those leaves to put in my room. I could sleep like the birds!
- So many different types of birds yet they all sing and fly too...
- Mean bird took my peace today.
- Everyday they fly.
- The most beautiful part of my day is when I see the butterflies fly by in groups. I wish I had a beautiful group too. (Not sure on this last sentence)

Just got done watching Tangled for the first time...with an open mind...

...and here's my honest opinion...

*makes cautious step forward*

I still think "The Princess and the Frog" was better.

I found tons of concept art. I've never seen some of them before.

Yeah, I also liked The Princess and the Frog more than Tangled. I just found myself more emotionally attached to the characters and story, found it more entertaining, felt it had a stronger villain and *please don't kill me* I liked the songs more.

But, Tangled is great, too. :)

^^ See, I had the opposite experience.

I love both films, but I enjoyed Tangled much more. It "felt" more Disney to me for some reason.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I liked Tangled much more too. P&TF to me was only mildly entertaining, with a lot of completely pointless portions, such as that whole section they were 'going the wrong way' and the frog hunters. Also while I didn't mind the songs themselves, there were just too many of them IMO, the movie completely stopped with each song. Louis was also irritating and completely unecessary to me. I mean, Pascal was pointless too but at least he was cute and not annoying. I think the fact that they were frogs throughout much of the film also took me away from the characters, I just really couldn't connect with them. I did love the traditional animation though, and hope to see much more hand drawn in the future.

As much as I liked PATF and prefer 2D animation, i have to agree. I felt there were a lot of parts where Frog kind of plodded and more bits in Tangled that genuinely soared and moved a breakneck pace.

I also felt Rapunzel and Flynn were more likable as leads and their banter was more playful which really helped. And Mother Gothel was a more developed villain than Facilier. (Doc, still love ya, but you needed more clarification on your motives)
