I guess anytime after Black Friday. Some people are going to edit their wishlists to remove stuff they purchased during a BF shopping spree.
EDIT: To my Secret Santa, I won't remove items on my wishlist.

Dear Secret Santa,
Every year I say that coming up with a wish list is a very difficult task. This year is worse than ever. In fact, I almost considered asking if I could just give and not receive. (Honestly!) I m currently writing from Germany, where I have been student teaching for four weeks and will continue to do so for another three. I have been traveling over the weekends and seeing sights I had only dreamed of seeing up until now. In short, besides random bouts of homesickness and the reasonable inability to spend to my heart's content, I am feeling rather complete.
Nonetheless, I will still present you with my Amazon.com wish list, which has been ever-so-slightly updated from last year:
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html? ... ">Renata's Wish List</a>
Take note, however, that surprises are always nice. I like vintage, kitschy things (Disney and others). I like childrens books, pink (the color), sparkly things -- the like. My shirt size is large, just to be on the safe side. (Especially with all these German pastries/candies I've been eating over here!)
I think that's it. Thank you, Secret Santa!

For the hell of it, there's this year's SEND/RECEIVE thread.

<font size=3 face="Lucida Handwriting"> Dear Secret Santa, </font>
Thanksgiving has come and gone, so it's now officially Christmas Season!
I know you and your elves are very busy; [s]kids are becoming greedier[/s] the economy is not as great as it could be, so I'm sure the workers up in the North Pole have been working extra hard the past couple of years!
A few pages ago I made a post with a link to my Amazon Wish List. I've updated it a bit (I bought some things on it, and narrowed it down more), to make it easier as it was very confusing and unorganized (or at least to me it was).
Hopefully you haven't ordered anything yet... I think I only removed two items, so if you did, you're most likely safe on getting me something I don't have. Even if you did, that's fine... it's the spirit that counts!
All my wish list items are linked to an Amazon page, and I have no problems with you getting it from the Amazon Marketplace, so long as it's in new condition.
Okay, here is my wish list, finally:

Dear Secret Santa,
How was your Thanksgiving? Well, if you are a celebrating US resident, that is. If not, then how was your Thursday evening? Did you eat mashed potatoes? Just checking.
Anyway, I haven't made any modifications to my wish list, but I was reading this review of Andrew Osmond's 100 Animated Feature Films. This doesn't come out until April 2011, so it won't likely be my gift. But I just thought you'd be interested in it, and when the time comes, you can buy it for yourself from Amazon.com. Have a happy December!
Your Secret Cindy Lou Who,
albert

ETA: this used to say "if you haven't gotten my gift, here's another idea" but then I saw the release date, so I've re-written the above. I'd have made a thread about this book, but then there'd be the whole "How much Disney is represented? How much Disney is unfairly left out? What does this guy know anyway if he doesn't include all the Disney films?" issue and I didn't want to have that start up months before the book actually comes out.

Dear Secret Santa,
If you haven't bought my gift yet, I've edited my gift to remove one thing. That's all. Thank you.
