Disneyland/Wonderful World of Disney/etc. - Episodes on DVD?
BAH! I didn't save the post, and the site timed out when I posted! Oh well, I'll try to do the whole thing again...
I'm sure most Disney fans are familiar with this anthology series, that ran from 1954 through 2008.
It has appeared under various titles, on many networks:
ABC: (many episodes were filmed in color, but shown in B&W)
Disneyland (1954-1958) - Hosted by Walt Disney
Walt Disney Presents (1958-1961) - Hosted by Walt Disney
NBC:
Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color (1961-1969) - Hosted by Walt Disney till his death in 1966
The Wonderful World of Disney (1969-1979)
Disney's Wonderful World (1979-1981)
CBS:
Walt Disney (1981-1983)
PBS:
Walt Disney (1983-1986)
ABC:
The Disney Sunday Movie (1986-1988) - Micheal Eisner began hosting
NBC:
The Magical World of Disney (1988-1990)
The Disney Channel:
The Magical World of Disney (1990-1996)
ABC:
The Wonderful World of Disney (1997-2008)
I was wondering just what episodes were available on DVD (or Blu-ray). I understand that many of the shows may have just been broadcasting a theatrical movie, I would still like to see the Walt Disney introductions for those. Of course, any episodes that were completely created for the show should be put on DVD for preservation purposes. Many of the TV movies like The Absent-Minded Professor (and sequel) starring Harry Anderson debuted during WWoD, and I wish those would come out on DVD as well.
Here is a partial list of episodes that are on home video (although that may include VHS):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Disne ... Home_video
I know there are several things missing, like Davy Crockett, Elfego Baca, The Swamp Fox, Dr. Syn, The Goofy Success Story (on A Goofy Movie), and probably more.
The following is a complete list of episodes through 1996. Bill Cotter released the book "The Wonderful World of Disney Television" in 1997. The list of WWoD airdates wasn't included because of space considerations.

Many thanks for the second half of your post, Escapay!
merlinjones, don't forget about the stuff like Boogedy and Bride of Boogedy, as well as the various TV movies that premiered on WWoD - The Absent-Minded Professor and the sequel, Parent Trap III and IV, The Love bug with Bruce Campbell (I think it was a WWoD episode), etc.
Is Elfego Baca complete, or are there missing episodes on that one like there are with Swamp Fox? EDIT: Never mind, from the UD review of the Treasures set: "A total of ten episodes of "Elfego Baca" were produced; this DVD contains the first two and #5."
Those two series DEFINITELY need to be completed, it's rather a tease to put out 3 episodes of each, packaged together...

Yeah, that's why I included the "(# of #)" after each episode title (like "(1 of 9)" or "(5 of 9)"). I probably should've clarified that in my initial post!littlefuzzy wrote:Is Elfego Baca complete, or are there missing episodes on that one like there are with Swamp Fox? Where?
Are there missing episodes that never aired at all?
I came across this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnT_DQNpbRQ
and have no idea where it is from...I have several of the episodes and do not remember there being a show for 101 Dalmatians... also, there is a episode preview on the Behind the Scenes ( Mary Poppins vhs) that has the robotic robin from Mary Poppins and Walt talking about it..what episode was that?

Still waiting for the complete "From the Pirates of the Caribbean to the World fo Tomorrow" and "Disneyland Showtime" for sure.
>>(Mary Poppins vhs) that has the robotic robin from Mary Poppins and Walt talking about it..what episode was that?<<
I think that was one of the 60's episodes about audio-animatronics like "Disneyland Goes to the Worlds Fair" or "Disneyland 10th Anniversary" -- or the CBC interview?

The movie club exclusives of "Horse without a Head" and "Atta Girl Kelly" are the full WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR episodes with intros included?
Also, does the dvd version of "The Yellowstone Cubs" contain the intro by Walt Disney?

Not sure on all of them but with Secret of Boyne Castle, it was rereleased in the UK as Guns In The Heather. As it was about the same run time as the US print titled Secret of Boyne Castle they probably spliced the episodes together and just changed the title screen.
And as FYI:
Screenshot of Title Screen From Secret of Boyne Castle:

Half Sheet Poster Art of UK Release Retitled As Guns In The Heather:

Also with Escapade in Florence, the UK Theatrical Release was the version on the released here in the US on VHS.
Here is a screenshot of the title still from that one as well taken from the US VHS Release.

Same story with the US VHS Release of The Waltz King the UK Theatrical Print was used.
