OMG! You just listed the one common moment in movies that gets to me every time! Even in DCOM stuff, like Life is Ruff!jediliz wrote:I just watched my O&C 20th Anniversary DVD (first time I've seen the movie since it was in the theater) and I was actually tearing up seeing Oliver not get picked from the litter of kittens that were for sale.

that happens to me too, even in stuff like Life is ruff or Balto which were both good.ajmrowland wrote:OMG! You just listed the one common moment in movies that gets to me every time! Walt Disney always belived in quality, bring the quality back.
Same here. But only the last time I watched it, which was, like, the 916487th time. I don't know why, but it got me.CampbellzSoup wrote:When Aladdin finally release the Genie instead of being selfish about his last wish telling Jasime that he just has to be himself, and then when he releases the genie the genie is all happy to be free, looks at Aladdin and gets chocked up again...and says "No matter what anyone says you'll always be a prince to me" ...ahhh it got me a little :P
I never cried when Bambi's mother was shot, or when Dumbo visits his mother in captivity, or when Mufasa died.
By the way, funny parody of Bambi's mother's death from Animaniacs:

Sure Disney movies have their sad moments but none have made me cry. My tear ducts have pretty much dried up since puberty. I will admit tho there is one song that will make me tear up....and that would be Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins. I dont know what it is but I find the song plus the footage very touching and moving. It manages to hit a soft place in me and the song ....well for some reason is very special to me.

I used to buy Disney video's and they were around 40 guilders apiece. But that was in the 90's. Now I pay around 20 euro for a Disney DVD and that's about the same amount converted. But with much more extras.ajmrowland wrote:I can't recall crying during many scenes. I mean most of the disney films I saw when I was very little. I guess I cried during the death of Mufasa, but I dont remember.
And Videos were $99 apiece!?I betcha it'd make people think twice about blu-ray prices.

Did I tell I let out a tear when in Cinderella the heroin is sobbing in despair (after the mean stepsisters have torn her dress)?
I forgot to mention that one. Yes, it gets me too.a-net-fan wrote:I will admit tho there is one song that will make me tear up....and that would be Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins. What Kate said as well as the scene where Dumbo visits his mother when she's locked up and then when Mufasa died in The Lion King, but I was 9 then and it was the first time I'd even been in a movie theater so everything was extremely overwhelming.katemonster wrote:I can think of several but most recently, it was Wall-E

And really? You first went to the movies when you were nine?
Psh. My parents were like "He's born, we can go to the movies now!"

"Hip hop frightens you, doesn't it....Hmmm...Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate. Hate leads to endlessly posting threads about stupid white people. Hmmmmm....."

What Disney Movies Made You Cry?
Has anyone cried during a Disney movie-as an adult? Re-watching some of these films, I realized how emotional these movies are. Anyways, my list-
Beauty and the Beast
Fox and the Hound (no idea why this one. I just started crying in the middle of it.)
Tarzan (I cried during the beginning.)
Finding Nemo
Toy Story 3 (what grown woman HASN'T?)
Tangled (Saw an advanced screening of this. I cried. HARD.Can't tell why because then I'll have to recount the entire movie. A movie that hasn't come out yet....)
I'll update this post later with more

I got choked up during the incinator scene in Toy Story 3 but didn't actually cry. I'm having trouble thinking of Disney movies that made me cry as an adult.

What about Chicken Little? Did you give the screen the swear finger?Goliath wrote:I cried during Home on the Range. I just couldn't believe Disney would put out anything that bad!

Toy Story 3 and Up are the only ones to do it, although I would have during The Lion King but was 6 and didn't really know what had happened. Thankfully.

The one that most of you may find most surprising is actually..."Cinderella III: A Twist in Time". Simply because there is a wonderful amount of well-pitched drama in the final part of the film... ... Especially the part where Cinderella sings the reprise of
"Nothing But a Dream" whilst she's waiting to be exiled.
I do recall getting VERY emotional when I saw "Little Mermaid" as a child during it's original release; in the scene where Ariel loses her voice.
The final scene of "Pollyanna" holds extra resonance for me now, more than ever before. It was one of my grandmother's favourites and we used to love watching it together. Now that she's no longer with me, I associate even more emotion in it's ending.
"The Rescuers" ("Someone's Waiting for You" and the Penny/Rufus scene) slays me every time. Throw me a box of tissues BEFORE the movie starts!
I could go on and on, really, but I'd probably just embarrass myself. I'm just a great big softie, y'all!

I have two younger sisters. I can't watch Lilo & Stitch without getting a little teary-eyed.
& Mufasa's death - Sad. One of the saddest Disney(/Movie) moments in my opinion. But I haven't cried in years.
... well, that is until I had to help my four year old cousin understand why simba's dad wasn't getting up.
Not fun.
