I've noticed her teeth too. I think it makes her look cute, and not perfect (trailers have also shown she's sort of clumsy, and a bit clueless.) Thank you Disney. Princesses don't have to be perfect (Flynn also has his faults too, he's a theif and a jerk at the beginning of the movie.)

He doesn't seem for or against them doing a glee ep with his songs, he just doesn't seem to care. but I do wish he were more up for it, I'd love to see them do a Disney themed glee ep. its just begging for it.

Has anyone else stumbled across an incorrect synopsis of Tangled?

I was watching tv and flipped to this movie news channel where the host was introducing the Tangled (Pink) trailer.
Everything he said was rubbish - a bandit happens upon Rapunzel's (who plays 'hard to get' ) tower, and when he leaves she is forced to go out into the world.. in order to find him (?!).

2 weeks 'til the movie comes out, and they're bloody clueless :]

I think it's the Glen Keane/Alan Menken factor

I agreed, even though I like PATF a lot. I just so excited to see a movie Glen Keane and Alan Menken work on, since its been a while since we see Glen's work. Also, I really love Alan's last work on Enchanted so much, and can't wait to listen to the soundtrack when its out.

I was just thinking the same thing as you guys; its the Alan Menken magic factor that must play a big part in it ...

I must admit (and I LOVE TPATF) when I found out that Alan had been kicked off the movie, and replaced by Newman, my heart did sink a little. I can't tell you how happy it makes me that hes back on Tangled.

If there is such a thing, he does indeed have the 'Disney Esseence' :)

Oh wow, love the new soundtrack samples. I think the reprises will be my favorite. The second "When Will My Life Again" reprise is amazing! Also proves one poster right, who said the repetitious lyrics in the original song are supposed to be monotonous ("I'll keep wondering and wondering and wondering...), because in the reprise, she lists all the things she'll do outside the tower (running and racing and splashing etc). Very nice!

I was probably more excited for TPATF, because of the hand-drawn element. I also wasn't upset about Randy Newman replacing Alan Menken, because I loved the songs from "Cats Don't Dance". But in retrospect, I do think Alan would've been the better composer. And TPATF had a lot of story problems, whereas Tangled seems to have a much stronger one. TPATF was just a disappointment for me, whereas everything from Tangled has exceeded my expectations thus far.

Two days ago I was fortunate enough to attend a masterclass Glen Keane gave in Paris, where he talked about his work from the early days up untill Rapunzel and they screened several scenes. The first sequence of Rapunzel inside her tower, and the first encounter between Rapunzel and Flynn when she knocks him out with a frying pan. The animation is INCREDIBLE! It's as classic Disney as you could get. It's rich, has personality, and just gorgeous, gorgeous gorgeous and so full of life.

Afterwards I went to a gallery opening where they opened an exposition of Glen's work, both personal and Disney related. Amazing. Got to meet Byron Howard, Roy Conli and Glen. Managed to have a quick chat with him and then the next day I went back to the gallery to check out the works more quietly, because it was too busy the night before. And by chance Glen was there, so I was lucky enough to get the chance to sit down with him and chat for a good 20 minutes, show him my work, get some tips and talk to him. Really talk. An absolute dream come true! Just AMAZING!!

Here's a picture of me with Glen at the gallery opening :)

WOW robster16!!! A little envious, but mostly just happy and thrilled for you.

p.s....does anyone else see a slight resemblance between Rapunzel and Glen's overbites?

Robster I'm really happy for you. I can imagine how that must have been a dream come true. I've shown my work to a few Disney animators when I was around 12 ( ) and I totally understand how awesome a moment that it. Do you study anything in arts? You may have mentioned it before somewhere but I forgot.

edit: never mind, I found your blog. Love your work! I like your ability to switch between styles. Good stuff!

And Robster! If I were you I would be the luckiest guy in the entire world!! =D Congrats! =)

Wow Robster I gotta say I'm incredibly jealous. That's pretty much a lifelong dream of mine to be able to do exactly what you just did. I'd love to hear more about what you talked about with Glen! And what'd he say about your work?!
