I'm really excited to watch this classic in Hi-Def but I have to disagree on liking the cover. Really, what is up with the cover artwork on all of the Diamond Editions? They are horrible, Snow White is all cluttered, the old witch takes up most of the space and appears on the spine. On Beauty and the Beast, Belle looks completely off model and her dress does not line up underneath the title logo! Belle and Beast were on the spine in all the promos but Cogsworth ended up in the actual release. It's all cheap amateurish artwork. Disney has always provided us with quality artwork on their animated classics but I feel like there's very little effort being put in to their top notch "Diamond" line. I think they should be consistent with the titles in this line like they were with the old VHS Black Diamond line. ALL of the titles came in the white clam-shell case and the spines had the title character coming out of a diamond looking towards the same direction. I remember that looked soo cool when they were displayed in the shelf. You knew it was a Disney movie because everything had a particular style and it was so epic. Come on Disney!

Has there ever been a cover someone saw it and said eww I'm not buying it based on the cover even though I've seen the film and Adore Bambi and Disney and Want this on Blu ray but the cover is embarassing so i'm passing...i'll wait for green ray where Bambi comes out and joins smokey bear and says you can also prevent deer hunting as well as forest fires
You buy the Movie if you like it, and it has enough features to your point of view, I don't care for some art on covers but it's not going to make me boycott it based on the cover....

If we were boycotting Disney releases based on the cover, we would probably never buy any.disneyboy20022 wrote:I don't care for some art on covers but it's not going to make me boycott it based on the cover.

To be honest, what bothers me the most with the cover is the sideways title. I'm used to the ugly enormous floating heads and Bambi is no exception here.
But the sideways title is just tacky, and weird. Not to mention that it stands as the odd one out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but none of the releases of Disney animated films ever had a sideways title in any format whether VHS, Laserdisk, DVD, or Blu-ray.

My thoughts exactly. Thank you : )Kyle wrote:No one's saying anything of the sort, doesn't mean people can't be opinionated on this. cover art is an art in itself and it'd be nice if they were designed better.disneyboy20022 wrote:Has there ever been a cover someone saw it and said eww I'm not buying it based on the cover -

Bambi: Diamond Edition
WORST COVER FOR A DISNEY MOVIE EVER.

This is not just a giant floating head, but the King of giant floating heads. And the title makes you think "What...what is this?" You can't even read it.
Just because something is unique does not make it look good.
A better cover is this one...

But the BEST cover, I think, is this one:

I'll explain why: It's because it look like we are peering into the Disney film, into this very beautiful, artful world, with friendly characters we love peering back at us. I'm invited. It just needs to be drawn better and perhaps make the characters a little smaller and reveal some more of the world we are peering into.

Hi Guys, just a tip, Amazon currently have a $10 voucher, at their Disney Store page for either version of the Blu Ray pack. Apparently it is a limited time thing
. With their pre-order price guarantee, and free shipping for the Americans among you, this may be a good cheap option for someone?
Its currently pre ordering for 27.99, that will surely go down between now and march so you may end up getting it for under 15 bucks.
Anyway, hope that helps someone, Cheers Greg.

Even though this wouldn't be my first choice for the next classic on Blu-Ray, I'm still very excited that it's coming.
I'm not crazy about the cover art either, but I do like how it's more green than the platinum cover. I'm just not crazy about how the characters are arranged and how the title is vertical. If I still don't like it when it comes out, I'll just make a custom cover.

Yeah, I find that cover passable, and nice-enough (even if I think the colors are still a little too kiddified), but that other cover is horrendous. It gives even the Snow White Diamond cover a run for its money.Disney Duster wrote:

Not looking forward to what they'll do to the other Diamonds...

Unfortunately the $10 coupon would only show before placing the order but not after that so the Amazon representative lowered the price to $17.99 for me.
What I don't get is how will I get a lower price when the Amazon price is eventually reduced with the $10 coupon not clearly showing in my order summary...
Can anyone share their experience in applying this coupon?
Thanks
When you finalise your order, the price of $27.99 still remains, and the $10 is used like a voucher when Bambi is released, so if it drops to $24.99 or lower, you will still get $10 off the final price. My total, as I ordered other things with it, shows all item with Bambi at $27.99, and in the totals at the end shows that I have a $10 dollar voucher waiting to come off the price. Does that make sense?geniuswalt wrote:Thanks for the tip, not2foul!not2foul wrote:Hi Guys, just a tip, Amazon currently have a $10 voucher, at their Disney Store page for either version of the Blu Ray pack. For example, I ordered B&TB with TS3 BluRay sets, with a $10 voucher. At the time B&TB was 27.99 and TS3 was $29.99, on release day they both ended up being $24.99 each, plus the $10 voucher made them both $19.99. So in brief.....The $10 voucher doesn't come off until release date allowing for Amazons pre-order guarantee.
Wow....That was a lot of ramble wasn't it? I hope that helps explain a bit better, but trust me it works, I've done this with all Disney's Blu-Ray since Snow White, and have gotten the best price, and discount!!!!
Take Care Greg.
